Product Description

If you’re searching for a floor that blends warmth, texture, and modern elegance, look no further than Smoked White Oak 180 — one of the most stylish engineered floors available in Ireland, exclusively from FloorStore Direct. This premium hardwood floor captures the best of both worlds — the rich depth of smoked oak and the soft brightness of a white stain — creating a truly distinctive look that transforms any space into a statement of sophistication and comfort.

Crafted from the finest European oak, Smoked White Oak 180 is a 15mm thick, 180mm wide engineered floor designed for stability, beauty, and lasting durability. The boards are smoked to enhance the natural grain and deepen the oak’s character, producing a rich contrast of tones that range from warm browns to pale greys. This process highlights the wood’s organic beauty while giving each plank its own unique variation — no two are ever exactly alike.

After smoking, the oak is brushed to accentuate its natural texture. The brushing process delicately removes the softer fibres from the surface, allowing the grain to stand out beautifully underfoot. The tactile quality of the brushed surface gives this floor an authentic, handcrafted feel that adds depth and personality to any room.

To finish, each board is stained and sealed with a matt lacquer, combining a modern, low-sheen appearance with outstanding protection against wear and tear. The matt lacquer finish preserves the natural look of real wood while providing durability against scratches and stains, making Smoked White Oak 180 an excellent choice for both busy family homes and elegant commercial interiors.

The rustic grading of this engineered oak floor embraces the natural charm of real wood. Expect knots, tonal variations, and occasional sapwood, all of which add authenticity and warmth to your home. This rustic texture works beautifully in a variety of design styles — from contemporary Scandinavian-inspired spaces to traditional Irish cottages or industrial lofts.

Built using advanced engineered construction, this 15mm floor provides excellent stability, even in Ireland’s changing climate. It can be glued directly to the subfloor for a secure, solid fit or floated using its tongue & groove system for easier installation. It’s also fully compatible with underfloor heating, bringing luxurious comfort underfoot.

At FloorStore Direct, we pride ourselves on offering Ireland’s best selection of engineered and hardwood floors. Recommend Underlay/Adhesive

Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Castro Range is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
