Product Description
Bring richness, depth, and timeless beauty into your home with Forest Cashel Oak, a luxurious engineered wood floorthat celebrates the natural character of real oak with a contemporary twist. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this 14mm masterpiece combines expert craftsmanship, durable construction, and stunning visual appeal — making it the perfect choice for both modern and traditional interiors.
Each plank of Forest Cashel Oak is beautifully smoked, brushed, and finished with a matt lacquer, creating a warm, inviting tone full of character and charm. The smoking process deepens the oak’s natural colour, adding layers of golden-brown and grey undertones that give the floor a rich, lived-in look. The brushed surface enhances the wood’s natural grain, providing a tactile texture that feels authentic underfoot, while the matt lacquered finish adds a subtle sheen that protects the wood without compromising its natural beauty. The result is a durable, low-maintenance surface that exudes sophistication and warmth.
The universal grading of Forest Cashel Oak includes a beautiful balance of all wood grades — from clean, elegant boards to more rustic planks with visible knots and colour variations. This mix captures the best of both worlds: the smooth refinement of select-grade timber and the organic charm of natural oak. It’s a design that feels full of life, bringing warmth and individuality to every space, whether it’s a contemporary apartment or a cosy family home.
Crafted with precision engineering, this 14mm multi-layered floor offers exceptional strength and stability. Unlike traditional solid wood floors, engineered flooring is designed to handle changes in humidity and temperature — making it the perfect solution for Irish homes. Its layered structure prevents warping or movement, ensuring long-lasting performance without sacrificing the elegance and authenticity of natural oak.
The tongue and groove system makes installation quick and versatile. Forest Cashel Oak can be floated over an underlay for a fast, flexible installation or glued directly to the subfloor for a solid, seamless finish. Either method delivers a floor that’s stable, quiet, and built to last — perfect for both domestic and commercial settings.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive
Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Forest Engineered Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
