Product Description
Elegant, durable, and effortlessly timeless, Monolam European Oak 150mm is the perfect choice for homeowners who appreciate the beauty of real oak combined with the performance of modern engineering. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s trusted destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this 18mm oak floor features a smooth matt lacquered finish that enhances the natural beauty of the wood while providing long-lasting protection. The result is a floor that radiates warmth, character, and sophistication in any setting.
Each plank of Monolam European Oak 150mm showcases the stunning grain and texture that make European oak so desirable. The matt lacquer finish gives the surface a subtle, low-sheen appearance, preserving the organic look and feel of untreated wood while adding a layer of durability. This finish enhances the oak’s natural tones, from pale honey to soft amber, highlighting the fine detail of the grain without making the surface overly glossy. It’s a floor that feels soft and natural underfoot yet stands up beautifully to the demands of modern living — ideal for family homes, apartments, or elegant commercial spaces.
The universal grading of this floor captures the true essence of oak in all its natural variety. Each plank contains a mix of clean and characterful pieces, with knots, tonal variation, and touches of sapwood adding life and authenticity to every board. This balance ensures a floor that looks natural yet refined, combining the charm of rustic wood with a sophisticated finish. Whether you’re styling a contemporary space or complementing traditional architecture, Monolam European Oak 150mm brings warmth, depth, and timeless beauty to any interior.
Built for strength and stability, this 18mm multi-layered engineered floor combines the look of solid oak with the technical benefits of advanced construction. Unlike traditional hardwood, engineered flooring is designed to resist expansion and contraction caused by changes in humidity or temperature — making it perfect for Ireland’s climate. It provides long-term durability, compatibility with underfloor heating, and a structure that remains smooth and secure for years to come.
When it comes to installation, Monolam European Oak 150mm offers flexibility and convenience. It can be glued directly to the subfloor for a solid, permanent bond or floated using a tongue and groove system for easier fitting. Both methods create a flawless, seamless finish that highlights the floor’s natural beauty and craftsmanship.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive
Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Monolam Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
