Product Description

Timeless Authenticity: Nature’s Choice Pure Oak

If you are searching for a floor that perfectly captures the balanced, organic essence of real wood, the Nature’s Choice Pure Oak from Egger is an unrivaled selection. This floor is designed for those who appreciate a classic, mid-oak palette that remains unswayed by passing trends. At Floorstore Direct, we have earned our reputation as the best place in Ireland to buy laminate flooring by providing homeowners with products that bridge the gap between historic charm and modern engineering.

Previously known to many as Natural Lausanne Oak, this decor has been reimagined under the Nature’s Choice banner. It retains the same beloved character—featuring a warm, golden-brown hue with intricate grain details and subtle knots that add a rustic yet sophisticated touch. As a centerpiece of the Egger flooring collection, it offers a “Natural Pore” surface structure, ensuring the floor feels as authentic and tactile as genuine brushed oak.

Engineered for Life: 8mm AC4 Water-Resistant Durability

Irish homes require a floor that can withstand the “beautiful chaos” of daily life, from damp weather to high-traffic family activities. The Pure Oak is built to be a resilient, life-proof companion for your home.

  • Water-Resistant Swell Protection: Built with a high-density HDF+ core board, this floor offers dependable protection against everyday moisture. While it mimics the look of solid oak, it provides the moisture resistance necessary for kitchens, hallways, and living areas.

  • AC4 Durability Rating: Certified for heavy residential use, this 8mm laminate is engineered to resist scratches from active pets, high heels, and the constant movement of furniture, ensuring your natural finish stays flawless.

  • CLIC it! System: Featuring Egger’s innovative installation technology, the Pure Oak offers a fast, glueless, and secure fit. The precision-fit joints provide a reliable barrier against dirt and moisture, making maintenance a breeze.

Ask a Question

1. Is "Pure Oak" the exact same colour as the old "Natural Lausanne Oak"? Yes! While Egger has transitioned the name to Pure Oak within the Nature’s Choice range, the decor and warm, natural oak tones remain identical. If you are extending a project started with Natural Lausanne Oak, this is the exact match you need.

2. Does the "Mid-Oak" tone work with both light and dark furniture? Absolutely. Pure Oak is considered a "universal neutral" in the flooring world. Its balanced colour palette allows it to pair seamlessly with light Scandinavian furniture for a bright look, or with dark walnut and navy accents for a more traditional, prestigious feel.

3. Is this floor suitable for a busy entrance hallway? Yes. Thanks to its AC4 durability rating and 8mm thickness, it is specifically designed for high-traffic residential areas. Its water-resistant properties mean it can easily handle the wet footprints and grit brought in from the outdoors, provided it is maintained with a simple damp mop.

Recommended Underlay

The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Egger laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
