Product Description
Timeless, versatile, and full of natural beauty, Monolam Brushed Oak 150mm is a premium engineered wood floor that perfectly captures the essence of oak — durable, elegant, and effortlessly stylish. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s trusted destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this 18mm oak floor features a beautiful brushed and matt lacquered finish, offering a stunning combination of modern refinement and traditional character.
Every plank of Monolam Brushed Oak 150mm is crafted with care to enhance the oak’s natural grain and depth. The brushed surface gently removes the softer fibres of the wood, exposing the natural texture and bringing out the unique detail of the grain. This process not only adds tactile dimension but also enhances the floor’s durability, making it perfect for high-traffic areas while maintaining an authentic, handcrafted look. The matt lacquer finish completes the process, sealing the surface with a soft, natural sheen that protects against everyday wear while keeping the understated beauty of raw oak intact. The result is a floor that looks elegant and organic, ideal for both classic and contemporary interiors.
The universal grading of Monolam Brushed Oak ensures a perfect balance of character and consistency. Each board contains a mix of all natural wood grades — from clean, refined planks to those with knots, grain variation, and touches of sapwood. This combination celebrates oak in all its natural glory, creating a warm and inviting surface that feels alive with texture and tone. Whether you’re renovating a period property or creating a modern, minimalist space, this floor adapts effortlessly, enhancing every design with timeless appeal.
Constructed for strength, stability, and long-lasting performance, this 18mm multi-layered engineered floor is designed to handle the Irish climate with ease. Unlike traditional solid oak, engineered flooring is built to resist movement caused by temperature and humidity fluctuations, making it ideal for use throughout your home — even with underfloor heating. This robust construction ensures that your floor stays stable and beautiful for decades, combining the charm of real wood with the reliability of modern flooring technology.
Monolam Brushed Oak 150mm offers flexibility when it comes to installation. It can be glued directly to the subfloorfor a strong, solid fit or floated using a tongue and groove system for quicker installation and greater adaptability. Both methods result in a seamless, elegant finish that enhances the flow and warmth of your interior.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive
Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Monolam Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
