Offering a deep, refined tone with authentic wood grain texture, this floor brings timeless class to both contemporary and traditional interiors.

The Supreme 4V range is known for its distinctive four-sided bevelled edge, which enhances each plank with greater visual depth and creates a seamless wood floor aesthetic. Ask a Question

1. Does "Select Walnut" have the same red undertones as natural cherry wood? Unlike cherry or mahogany, which often lean toward reddish-pink, Supreme 4V Select Walnut is engineered to capture the classic "chocolate" profile of high-end American walnut. It features deep, cool browns and smoky swirls. This makes it an excellent choice for balancing rooms with bright white walls or "cool" industrial decor, as it provides a grounded, sophisticated warmth without clashing with modern neutral palettes.

2. How does the "Embossed in Register" texture work with the 4V groove? The Select Walnut finish uses synchronized embossing, meaning the physical texture you feel perfectly aligns with the visual knots and swirls of the wood grain. When combined with the 4-sided V-groove, this creates a powerful 3D effect. In a well-lit room, the beveled edges define each plank, while the textured surface scatters light naturally, eliminating the "plastic" sheen often found in cheaper, flat-surface laminates.

3. Is an 8mm Walnut floor stable enough for heavy antique furniture? Yes. While walnut is a "soft" wood in its natural solid form, the Balterio Supreme version is built on a high-density fibreboard (HDF) core with an AC4 durability rating. This means it is much more resistant to pressure and indentation than real walnut. It can easily support heavy sideboards or dining tables, provided you use felt floor protectors to prevent surface scratches when moving items during cleaning.

Recommended Underlay

The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Balterio laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
