Product Description
Elegant, contemporary, and full of natural depth, Smoked White Oak 220 brings refined character and lasting quality to any home. Available from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s premier destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this luxurious wide-board oak floor beautifully balances rustic charm with modern sophistication.
Crafted with precision, Smoked White Oak 220 is a 15mm thick engineered floor designed for strength, stability, and timeless appeal. Each plank measures an impressive 220mm in width, creating a bold and seamless look that enhances the natural flow of any interior. These wide boards allow the unique grain and texture of real oak to take centre stage, delivering a floor that looks as striking in a modern apartment as it does in a period country home.
The defining feature of this floor lies in its stunning smoked and white stained finish. The smoking process naturally deepens the wood’s tone, enriching the oak’s character and bringing out its natural variations. The white stain is then carefully applied to soften and lighten the surface, creating a contemporary two-tone effect that is both elegant and versatile. This combination gives the floor a distinctive Scandinavian-inspired look — bright yet warm, minimal yet full of life.
Each plank is brushed to enhance the natural texture of the oak grain, adding depth and a tactile feel underfoot. This gentle brushing highlights the unique lines and knots in the wood, giving it an authentic handcrafted appearance. Finished with a durable matt lacquer, the floor achieves a beautifully understated sheen that protects the wood from everyday wear and tear while preserving its natural look. The lacquer also makes cleaning and maintenance effortless — ideal for busy family homes or stylish commercial spaces.
The rustic grading of Smoked White Oak 220 celebrates the natural imperfections of real wood. Expect charming knots, subtle colour variations, and traces of sapwood, each adding character and authenticity. No two boards are exactly alike, ensuring a unique and inviting look in every installation.
This versatile engineered oak floor must be glued directly to the subfloor for superior stability. Its multi-layered construction provides excellent resistance to changes in temperature and humidity, making it a reliable choice for Ireland’s climate and compatible with underfloor heating.

Recommend Adhesive
Because of the excessive length and width of our Castro 220 Boards we advise them to be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Castro Range is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
