Product Description

Artisan Brushed Oak engineered flooring is a timeless and versatile choice for homeowners seeking the natural beauty of real wood combined with modern durability. Available from FloorStore Direct, this premium 14mm thick European white oak engineered floor delivers authentic character, stability, and refined style for Irish homes.

Brushed & Matt Lacquered Finish

Each board features a brushed and matt lacquered finish, designed to enhance the natural grain of the oak by removing softer fibres from the surface. This brushing process adds depth and texture, while the matt lacquer provides long-lasting protection against daily wear without introducing unwanted sheen. The result is an engineered oak floor that feels natural underfoot and looks effortlessly elegant.

Premium European White Oak Construction

Crafted from high-quality European white oak, Artisan Brushed Oak offers the appearance of solid hardwood floors with the added benefits of engineered construction. Engineered wood floors are more dimensionally stable, making them well suited to Irish homes where internal climates can vary throughout the year.

Rustic Grade with Authentic Character

As a rustic grade engineered oak floor, this product showcases knots, colour variation, and sapwood as part of its design. These natural features ensure each board is unique and add warmth and individuality to the finished floor. This makes it an ideal choice for customers who appreciate hardwood flooring with genuine character.

Flexible Installation Options

Artisan Brushed Oak engineered flooring can be glued directly to the subfloor for a solid and permanent installation or floated over a suitable underlay, making it suitable for renovations, apartments, and new builds. Its versatility allows it to perform well across living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, and open-plan spaces.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive

Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Artisan Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
