Product Description

Bring natural warmth, balance, and timeless elegance into your home with Forest Avoca Oak, a beautifully versatile engineered wood floor that combines strength, charm, and style in perfect harmony. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s number one destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this 14mm oak floor showcases the very best of natural wood design while offering the durability and practicality that modern living demands.

Each plank of Forest Avoca Oak features a refined matt lacquered finish, creating a smooth, low-sheen surface that enhances the natural grain of the oak while providing superior protection against daily wear. The lacquer adds a subtle sheen that beautifully reflects light, highlighting the wood’s natural tones and texture. It’s a finish that perfectly balances beauty and function — easy to clean, resilient, and ideal for busy homes or commercial spaces where elegance and performance go hand in hand.

The universal grading of Forest Avoca Oak is what makes it truly special. It includes a beautiful blend of all wood grades, from clean and contemporary to naturally rustic boards. This mix of characterful knots, natural grain variations, and subtle tonal shifts gives your floor a dynamic and organic look that feels warm and authentic. Every plank tells its own story, creating a floor that feels truly unique to your space — one that works equally well in traditional interiors or sleek, modern homes.

Crafted with precision engineering, this 14mm multi-layered construction provides exceptional stability and strength. Unlike solid wood flooring, engineered floors are designed to resist expansion and contraction caused by changes in temperature or humidity — a key advantage in Ireland’s climate. This ensures your floor remains solid, secure, and stunning all year round, while still delivering the unmistakable beauty of real oak.

Installation is flexible and straightforward thanks to the tongue and groove system, allowing Forest Avoca Oak to be either floated over an underlay for added comfort or glued directly to the subfloor for a more permanent, seamless fit. Whichever method you choose, the result is a flawless, natural-looking floor that enhances every room it touches.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive

Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Forest Engineered Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
