Product Description
Intricate Craftsmanship: iCONIC Galloway Basketweave
If you want to make a bold, sophisticated design statement that stands out from standard wood planks, the iCONIC Galloway Basketweave from J2 Flooring is an extraordinary choice. This striking floor brings the timeless art of traditional parquet and intricate weave patterns into the modern home. Showcasing a rich, natural oak tone, it delivers warmth, texture, and visual interest to any room. At Floorstore Direct, we have built our reputation as the best place in Ireland to buy LVT flooring, offering homeowners exclusive designs that combine historic charm with state-of-the-art durability.
While classic herringbone style remains popular, choosing an LVT basketweave or geometric parquet pattern offers a unique, luxurious finish that turns your floor into a bespoke feature piece. As part of the renowned J2 Flooringcollection, the Galloway design captures the authentic grain details and gentle color variations of real oak timber.Engineered as 100% waterproof flooring, it allows you to enjoy high-end parquet aesthetics in areas where traditional wood would never survive, including busy kitchens, utility spaces, and luxury bathrooms.
The Glue-Down Advantage: Subfloor Preparation is Key
Engineered with a sleek 2.5mm profile, this basketweave flooring is designed for a permanent, professional glue down installation method. Direct bonding provides exceptional stability underfoot, prevents plank movement, and offers maximum thermal efficiency when paired with underfloor heating.
To achieve a flawless, magazine-worthy finish, correct surface prep is vital. All subfloors must be clean, dry, and completely smooth before installing a glue down LVT. Because a thin 2.5mm vinyl flooring board adheres directly to the base, any debris, grit, moisture, or minor subfloor ridges can telegraph through the surface over time. We always advise applying a high-quality smoothing latex screed or marine-grade plywood overlay to create an immaculate,mirror-flat foundation before laying your tiles. Once installed, its robust construction ensures your LVT basketweaveremains a durable, stain-resistant centerpiece for years to come.

Ask a Question
1. How does a basketweave pattern differ visually from standard LVT herringbone flooring? While LVT herringbone arranges planks in a V-shaped zigzag pattern, basketweave flooring uses interlocking horizontal and vertical blocks to recreate a woven, multi-dimensional geometric effect. It brings a grand, historic parquet feel to rooms, making it a brilliant choice if you want something even more distinct than a standard herringbone layout.
2. Why must the subfloor be completely smooth and dry before laying Galloway Basketweave? Glue-down LVT conforms tightly to the surface beneath it. If there is dust, grit, or unevenness on the subfloor, those imperfections will show through the 2.5mm surface and can weaken the adhesive bond. Ensuring a clean, dry, and flat subfloor guarantees a silky-smooth finish and long-lasting durability.
3. Is Iconic Galloway Basketweave safe for moisture-heavy areas like bathrooms? Yes, absolutely! Unlike real wood parquet, which expands and warps when exposed to moisture, this luxury vinyl flooring is 100% waterproof. When fully glued down with the recommended adhesive, spills and water splashes wipe away easily, making it perfect for bathrooms, kitchens, and hallways.
Recommend Adhesive
LVT can shrink, expand, or lift under pressure if not properly bonded. Uzin KE66 is the adhesive we recommend as it is a fibre reinforced adhesive, which means it holds the tile firmly in place, preventing movement even in high-traffic areas or when exposed to temperature fluctuations. Please note all subfloors must be 100% clean, dry and level before LVT installation. Check out our adhesives, levelling compounds and primers here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Glue down LVT Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
