Waterside Oak LVT from our Camaro Rigid Core range is a beautiful soft oak board. As with all our lvt floors it is 100% waterproof. Because it is made from vinyl it is softer and warmer than most laminate floors. It is also incredibly durable and suited for the heaviest traffic and wear in your home. With a 5.5mm thickness it is perfect for areas where space is tight and can even be fitted over tiles. Waterside Oak LVT has its underlay built in to it so you save on that cost.

Product Description

The Perfect Neutral: Transform Your Home with Waterside Oak

In the world of interior design, few tones are as coveted or versatile as “greige”—that sophisticated intersection where warm beige meets cool grey. Waterside Oak from the Camaro Rigid Core range is the definitive expression of this trend. This 5.5mm thick LVT by Polyflor captures the organic, weathered beauty of coastal timber, offering a muted, contemporary palette that harmonises perfectly with the soft light of an Irish home. Whether you are aiming for a minimalist Scandi vibe or a modernised traditional look, Waterside Oak provides a seamless, high-end foundation that complements any décor.

Unrivalled Resilience: Why Camaro Rigid Core is Ireland’s Favourite

Living in Ireland means your flooring must contend with everything from Atlantic humidity to the muddy footprints of a busy family life. Waterside Oak isn’t just a beautiful surface; it is a high-performance SPC (Stone Plastic Composite)floor. Engineered with a solid, mineral-enriched core, it provides world-class dimensional stability. Unlike traditional flexible vinyl or real hardwood, this rigid core ensures the planks won’t warp, swell, or “peak” when exposed to moisture or the fluctuating temperatures of a sun-drenched conservatory.

As a 100% waterproof floor, it is the ultimate practical solution for moisture-heavy areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms. While many homeowners compare this range to Karndean flooring, the Camaro Rigid Core collection stands out for its Valinge 5G® press-fit technology. This allows for a glueless, rapid “drop-and-lock” installation that is up to 30% faster than standard vinyl—making it a favourite for both DIY enthusiasts and professional fitters across the country.

Luxury Performance with Integrated Rubber Underlay

A key feature of this Polyflor flooring is the pre-attached acoustic rubber underlay. This built-in layer is a game-changer for modern Irish living:

  • Acoustic Excellence: It reduces noise transfer to rooms below by 18dB—ideal for apartments or upstairs renovations.

  • Exceptional Comfort: The rubber backing acts as a thermal buffer, ensuring the floor feels snug and warm underfoot, even on those chilly winter mornings.

  • Time-Saving Install: With the underlay already attached, there is no need for separate rolls of padding, saving you significant money on materials and labour.

Ask a Question

1. Is "Waterside Oak" a good choice for high-traffic areas with large pets? Absolutely. The "greige" tones are incredibly clever at masking light dust and pet hair. Additionally, the 0.3mm wear layer is reinforced with a polyurethane (PUR) coating, providing excellent resistance against the scuffs of heavy footfall and the scratches of pet claws.

2. Can I install Waterside Oak directly over my old ceramic kitchen tiles? Yes! Thanks to the rigid SPC core and the 5.5mm thickness, Camaro Rigid Core is designed to bridge minor grout lines and subfloor imperfections that would cause thinner vinyls to fail. This saves you the upheaval and mess of a full floor "rip-out" during your renovation.

3. Is this floor safe for use with water-based underfloor heating? Yes, it is fully compatible with most water-based underfloor heating systems (up to 27°C). The dense core and integrated rubber backing allow heat to transfer efficiently and evenly, keeping your home cosy all year round.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Polyflor Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
