Product Description

Light, elegant, and effortlessly timeless, Castro Alexandria Oak 180 is the perfect choice for those who love the natural warmth of wood combined with modern sophistication. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading supplier of engineered floors and hardwood flooring, this beautiful oak floor brings together craftsmanship, durability, and design excellence. With its subtle light stain, brushed texture, and soft matt lacquer finish, Castro Alexandria Oak 180 enhances any space with understated luxury and lasting charm.

At 15mm thick and 180mm wide, each board of Castro Alexandria Oak showcases the true beauty of European oak in a spacious, contemporary format. The light stain gently brightens the natural wood tones, creating a warm and airy feel that makes rooms appear larger and more inviting. Perfect for modern homes, coastal-inspired interiors, or minimalist spaces, this pale oak finish provides the ideal foundation for a relaxed yet refined look.

The brushed surface adds depth and authenticity to the design. By lightly removing the softer fibres of the timber, the brushing process brings out the natural grain patterns, giving each plank its own distinctive character. The result is a floor that not only looks stunning but feels beautifully tactile underfoot — a perfect combination of natural texture and expert craftsmanship.

The matt lacquer finish enhances the oak’s delicate tone while providing excellent durability. Unlike glossier finishes, a matt lacquer gives the floor a more natural, contemporary appearance, allowing the wood’s texture to shine through. It also creates a strong protective layer that resists scratches, stains, and general wear, ensuring your floor stays beautiful for years to come. Easy to maintain and built to withstand daily life, Castro Alexandria Oak 180 is both stylish and practical.

This floor features a rustic grading, celebrating the true character of real oak. Expect charming knots, subtle colour variations, and touches of sapwood, each adding warmth and personality to your home. The rustic details make every board unique, creating a natural, lived-in look that never feels artificial or over-processed.

Engineered for stability and performance, this 15mm thick oak floor is constructed with a multi-layered base that helps prevent warping and movement — ideal for Ireland’s changing climate. It’s also compatible with underfloor heating, bringing both comfort and energy efficiency to your space. For installation, you can glue it directly to the subfloor for a traditional, secure fit or float it using its tongue & groove system for an easier, faster setup.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive

Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Castro Range is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
