Product Description
Bring warmth, texture, and timeless beauty into your home with Forest Glengarra Oak, a stunning engineered wood floor that captures the natural charm of real oak while offering the strength and stability of modern craftsmanship. Available exclusively at FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this 14mm floor is designed to add character and sophistication to any room while standing the test of time in busy Irish homes.
Each plank of Forest Glengarra Oak is beautifully brushed and finished with a matt lacquer, highlighting the wood’s natural grain and giving it a soft, tactile texture that feels both rustic and refined. The brushing process gently removes the softer fibres of the oak, enhancing the texture and revealing the distinctive patterns that make each board unique. The matt lacquered finish enhances this natural beauty, providing a protective layer that resists everyday wear and tear while maintaining a low-sheen, natural appearance. This makes it perfect for anyone who wants the authentic look of real wood with the practicality of modern engineering.
The universal grading of Forest Glengarra Oak includes a mix of all oak grades, combining clean, smooth boards with those featuring natural knots and tonal variations. This blend captures the perfect balance between elegance and rustic authenticity, ensuring your floor has plenty of depth and character. Every plank tells its own story, resulting in a beautiful, organic look that suits both contemporary and traditional interiors. Whether you’re designing a sleek, modern living space or a cosy country-style home, this floor complements every style and colour palette.
Constructed with precision and care, this 14mm multi-layered engineered floor offers superior stability and strength. Unlike solid oak flooring, engineered flooring is designed to handle Ireland’s varying temperatures and humidity levels, preventing expansion or contraction. This makes it the ideal choice for Irish homes, ensuring lasting beauty and performance for years to come.
Installation is flexible thanks to the tongue and groove system, which allows the floor to be either floated over an underlay for a faster installation or glued directly to the subfloor for a more permanent, seamless finish. Both methods ensure a secure, durable fit that feels comfortable underfoot.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive
Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Forest Engineered Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
