Level Up Your Preparation: The Wolff Screed Rake Advantage

In the professional flooring trade, your finished surface is only as good as the subfloor beneath it. Achieving a mirror-smooth finish with levelling compounds requires more than just high-quality resins; it requires the right flooring equipment to manage the flow. At Floorstore Direct, we supply Ireland’s most demanding contractors with the Wolff Screed Rake (Smoothing Compound Rake)—an industry-standard tool designed for the precision application of self-levelling screeds and coatings. Whether you are prepping a domestic kitchen or a large commercial unit, this adjustable rake ensures an even distribution of material, reducing waste and eliminating unsightly ridges.

Precision Engineering for Uzin and Pallmann Systems

The Wolff Screed Rake is built for durability and ergonomic comfort, making it a staple in any professional’s van. Designed to integrate perfectly with high-performance systems like Uzin levelling compounds and Pallmann timber treatments, this tool allows you to work faster and more accurately.

  • Adjustable Depth & Width: With a generous 56cm working width and various notch inserts (including the standard R2), you can control the thickness of your smoothing compound with surgical precision.

  • Ergonomic Design: The mount is designed for standing work using a wooden handle or telescopic pole, significantly reducing back strain during long days on-site.

  • Professional Finish: By using a dedicated rake rather than a standard trowel, you ensure that the screed reaches every corner and maintains a consistent depth, which is vital for the subsequent installation of LVT, laminate, or solid wood.

Ask a Question

1. Which notch size should I use for standard levelling compounds? The Wolff Screed Rake typically comes with an R2 notch insert, which is ideal for most standard self-levelling applications. However, we also stock R1 and R3 inserts if you need to apply a thinner or thicker layer of compound depending on the subfloor's condition.

2. Can the rake handle heavy-duty epoxy coatings as well? Yes. While it is primarily used for cementitious smoothing compounds, the high-quality stainless steel construction and adjustable nature make it an excellent choice for spreading epoxy resins and high-build coatings accurately across large areas.

3. Does the rake come with a handle, or do I need to buy one separately? The rake features a universal mount designed to fit a standard wooden stick or a telescopic handle. While the handle is typically sold separately to allow you to choose your preferred length, we stock a variety of compatible handles at Floorstore Direct to ensure you can get to work immediately.
