1. Does the "Texas White" colour show up dirt more than darker oak effects? Surprisingly, no. Texas White Ash features a realistic, textured grain and a matte finish that is excellent at diffusing light. This helps to mask light dust and dried water spots far better than a solid white or very dark floor, making it a highly practical choice for busy Irish hallways.
2. Can I install Texas White Ash over my old kitchen tiles? Absolutely. Thanks to the rigid K-Core technology and the 6.5mm thickness, these planks can be installed directly over most existing hard floors. They are designed to "bridge" minor grout lines and subfloor imperfections that would "telegraph" through thinner, flexible vinyl floors.
3. Is the rubber underlay compatible with underfloor heating? Yes. Texas White Ash is fully compatible with most water-based underfloor heating systems (up to 27°C). The combination of the dense SPC core and the integrated rubber backing allows heat to transfer efficiently and evenly across the floor, ensuring your "ash" planks feel luxuriously warm.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Van Gogh from Karndean Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines.
