Product Description

Timeless Luminosity: Transform Your Home with Van Gogh Tile Frosted Stone

For homeowners in Ireland looking to infuse their interiors with a sense of calm, clean, and classical elegance, Van Gogh Tile Frosted Stone from Karndean is a masterpiece of design. This 6.5mm thick LVT captures the ethereal beauty of chalky limestone, featuring soft silver tones and delicate cream veining. It provides a stunning, light-reflective surface that can make even the smallest Irish hallway or kitchen feel vast, airy, and sophisticated.

The Unbeatable Practicality of SPC Flooring

In the unpredictable Irish climate, your flooring needs to be more than just a pretty face. Van Gogh Frosted Stone is an SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) floor, engineered with a high-density rigid core that offers world-class stability. Unlike real stone, which can be cold, brittle, and prone to cracking, this is a 100% waterproof floor that is built to last.

Whether you are comparing it to Coretec flooring or other premium LVT floors, the Van Gogh range stands out for its resilience. It features a commercial-grade 0.55mm wear layer that is “life-proof,” protecting against the scuffs of busy family life, muddy paws, and accidental spills. Furthermore, Karndean’s InteGrout™ technology provides the authentic look of a grouted stone floor without the maintenance headache—these grout lines are non-porous, meaning they won’t harbour mould or discolour over time.

Silent Luxury with Integrated Rubber Underlay

One of the most innovative features of the Van Gogh collection is the built-in acoustic rubber underlay. This pre-attached backing is specifically designed to enhance the comfort of your home:

  • Superior Sound Reduction: It reduces noise transfer to rooms below by up to 21dB, making it the perfect choice for upstairs bathrooms or apartment living.
  • Warmer Underfoot: Unlike ceramic tiles that pull heat away from your feet, the rubber and vinyl construction acts as a thermal buffer, keeping the surface noticeably warmer.
  • Rapid Installation: The 5G® click-locking mechanism allows for a 30% faster installation than standard vinyl, as no separate underlay or messy adhesives are required.

Ask a Question

1. Does the "Frosted Stone" white colour show up dirt and footprints easily? While light floors often carry that reputation, Frosted Stone features a subtle, "clouded" limestone texture. This organic pattern is surprisingly effective at diffusing light and masking light dust or dried water spots, making it a much more practical choice for a busy household than a flat-coloured white tile.

2. Can I install Frosted Stone over my existing ceramic kitchen tiles? Yes! Thanks to the rigid SPC core and the 6.5mm thickness, Van Gogh is designed to be installed directly over most existing hard floors. It "bridges" minor grout lines and subfloor imperfections that would cause thinner vinyls to fail, saving you the significant cost and upheaval of a full floor "rip-out."

3. Is the rubber underlay safe for use with Irish underfloor heating? Absolutely. Van Gogh Frosted Stone is fully compatible with most water-based underfloor heating systems (up to 27°C). The integrated rubber underlay is an excellent conductor of heat, ensuring that your "stone" floor feels luxuriously warm during those chilly January mornings.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Van Gogh from Karndean Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
