Product Description

Elegant, timeless, and full of natural charm, Kylemore Oak Herringbone is a stunning addition to any interior space. Available from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s trusted expert for engineered floors, herringbone floors, and hardwood flooring, this 18mm oak herringbone brings a perfect balance of craftsmanship, sophistication, and strength. With its brushed texture, matt lacquer finish, and rustic A/Nature grading, this engineered floor showcases the natural beauty of real oak while offering the durability needed for modern Irish homes.

Each block of Kylemore Oak Herringbone is made from premium European oak, a wood celebrated for its rich grain, resilience, and warm tone. The surface has been brushed to gently lift the natural texture of the timber, highlighting its beautiful grain pattern and giving the floor an authentic, tactile feel. This technique enhances the oak’s depth and definition, making every piece unique while maintaining a smooth and refined finish underfoot. The result is a floor that feels luxurious, lived-in, and naturally elegant.

The matt lacquer finish provides a protective layer that enhances the natural look of the oak without adding unwanted shine. Unlike glossy finishes that can appear artificial, the matt lacquer keeps reflections low, allowing the oak’s true character to shine through. It also offers excellent resistance to scratches, moisture, and daily wear — ensuring your floor remains beautiful and easy to maintain for years to come. Perfect for busy family homes, open-plan spaces, or boutique commercial interiors, Kylemore Oak Herringbone combines the best of practicality and design.

The herringbone pattern is a timeless flooring layout that never loses its appeal. With its geometric, interlocking design, it adds depth, movement, and sophistication to any room. Whether you’re updating a period home or adding a statement feature to a modern living space, Kylemore Oak Herringbone brings instant luxury and architectural interest to your interior.

Featuring a rustic A/Nature grading, this engineered herringbone floor captures the authentic features of real oak while maintaining a more refined look. Expect smaller knots, subtle colour variation, and gentle touches of sapwood, giving your floor personality without overwhelming it. Each block tells its own story, adding natural charm and warmth to your home.

At 18mm thick, Kylemore Oak Herringbone offers superb strength and long-lasting stability thanks to its multi-layer engineered construction. This design ensures resistance to movement caused by humidity or temperature changes, making it perfect for Ireland’s climate and compatible with underfloor heating.

For a flawless installation and optimal performance, this engineered herringbone floor must be glued directly to the subfloor — a method that guarantees both strength and longevity while maintaining that solid wood feel underfoot.

Recommend Adhesive

Our Engineered Herringbone must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Trunk Herringbone is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
