Product Description

Timeless Character: Supreme Hydro Rustic Oak

Bring the rugged beauty of the outdoors inside with the Supreme Hydro Rustic Oak from Balterio. If you are searching for a floor that tells a story through every knot and grain, this mid-oak masterpiece is designed for you. At Floorstore Direct, we have earned our place as the best place in Ireland to buy laminate flooring by providing homeowners with products that bridge the gap between historic charm and 21st-century technology.

The Rustic Oak decor features a warm, honey-toned mid-oak palette that acts as a versatile anchor for any interior theme. Whether you are furnishing a traditional country cottage or a contemporary urban apartment, this floor adds an immediate sense of “home.” As a premium entry in the Balterio flooring collection, it utilizes “True-to-Nature” touch technology, ensuring that the physical texture under your feet perfectly mirrors the visual complexity of the wood.

HydroShield Technology: 100% Water-Resistant Durability

In Ireland, we know that life can be unpredictable—and often a bit damp. The Supreme Hydro range is specifically engineered to handle the “beautiful chaos” of a busy household without missing a beat.

  • HydroShield Protection: This floor is 100% water-resistant for up to 24 hours. Thanks to Balterio’s advanced moisture-repellent coating and precision-milled joints, water stays on the surface rather than seeping into the core. This makes Rustic Oak a perfect, worry-free choice for kitchens, utility rooms, and bathrooms.
  • 10mm Architectural Profile: The substantial 10mm thickness provides a rock-solid feel underfoot and superior acoustic performance. It eliminates the “hollow” sound often associated with thinner floors, giving your home the premium weight of solid timber.
  • AC5 Abrasion Rating: Certified for heavy domestic use, this floor is built to resist scratches from pets, high-traffic footfall, and the daily movement of furniture.

Ask a Question

1. Does the "Rustic" pattern make a room look too busy? Actually, it provides a sense of organic balance. The Rustic Oak uses a mid-toned palette that blends the knots and grains naturally. In large, open-plan spaces, it adds much-needed character, while in smaller rooms, it provides a "textured" foundation that makes the space feel more cozy and curated rather than clinical.

2. Is a 10mm floor better than a 12mm floor for underfloor heating? The 10mm profile is often considered the "sweet spot." It is thick enough to feel incredibly sturdy and provide great sound insulation, but it has a slightly lower thermal resistance than 12mm boards. This means heat from your underfloor system can penetrate the board more efficiently, warming your room faster while still maintaining that premium, solid-wood feel.

3. How do I maintain the "True-to-Nature" texture? Maintaining Rustic Oak is incredibly simple. Because the surface is non-porous and water-resistant, you don't need waxes or oils. A simple sweep and a damp microfibre mop are all it takes. The textured surface is actually very forgiving, as it naturally hides micro-scratches and light dust much better than a smooth, high-gloss finish.

Recommended Underlay

The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Balterio laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
