Product Description

Scandi-Chic Redefined: Supreme Hydro Nordic Oak

Embrace the effortless beauty of Northern European design with the Supreme Hydro Nordic Oak from Balterio. If you are looking to create a space that feels bright, airy, and deeply connected to nature, this soft oak laminate is your perfect foundation. At Floorstore Direct, we have earned our reputation as the best place in Ireland to buy laminate flooring by offering high-performance collections that perfectly capture the essence of modern luxury.

The Nordic Oak decor features a pale, sun-bleached palette with delicate sandy undertones, designed to maximize natural light and make even the most compact rooms feel expansive. As a centerpiece of the Balterio flooring lineup, it utilises “True-to-Nature” technology. This means the surface texture is meticulously synchronised with the visual wood grain, providing a tactile experience that mimics genuine, raw-sawn oak.

Maximum Performance: 10mm AC5 Water-Resistant Engineering

In the unpredictable Irish climate, a floor needs to be more than just visually stunning; it needs to be “life-proof.” The Supreme Hydro range is built to thrive in the most demanding environments, from busy family kitchens to high-traffic commercial spaces.

  • HydroShield Technology: This floor is 100% water-resistant for up to 24 hours. Thanks to the moisture-repellent coating and precision-fit joints, you can confidently install Supreme Hydro Nordic Oak in bathrooms, hallways, and kitchens without the fear of warping.
  • AC5 Commercial Grade Durability: While most residential floors stop at AC4, Nordic Oak boasts an AC5 rating—the highest durability standard available. It is virtually immune to scratches from pets, high heels, and heavy furniture.
  • 10mm Architectural Profile: The 10mm thickness offers a substantial, solid feel underfoot. It provides superior sound insulation and stability, giving your home the premium acoustic “thud” of solid wood rather than the hollow “click” of thinner laminates.

Ask a Question

1. Will "Nordic Oak" show more dirt because it is a lighter colour? Actually, it’s the opposite. Darker floors tend to highlight every speck of dust and white pet hair. The multi-tonal, sandy-grey grain of Nordic Oak is incredible at camouflaging light debris and footprints. Because it is water-resistant, a simple damp microfibre mop will remove any spills without leaving streaks.

2. What makes an AC5 rating better for an Irish household? AC5 is the gold standard for durability. While AC4 is designed for general residential use, AC5 is built for high-traffic commercial spaces like shops and cafes. In an Irish home, this means ultimate peace of mind against the grit and moisture brought in from the outdoors, making it the perfect choice for busy entrance hallways.

3. Is the "True-to-Nature" texture difficult for children or pets to walk on? Not at all. In fact, the "True-to-Nature" texture provides a slightly more slip-resistant surface than high-gloss or smooth-finished laminates. It offers a natural grip that feels comfortable underfoot (and paw), making it a safer and more organic-feeling option for active family homes.

Recommended Underlay

The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Balterio laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
