Ignite Your Interior with Supreme Hydro Liberty Oak
There is a unique confidence that comes with choosing a floor that makes a statement. The Supreme Hydro Liberty Oak from Balterio is designed for those who want to move away from the muted and toward the magnificent. Featuring a vibrant, rich red oak colour palette, this floor injects an immediate sense of energy, tradition, and warmth into the home. At Floorstore Direct, we have established ourselves as the best place in Ireland to buy laminate flooring by offering premium collections that combine bold aesthetic choices with world-class engineering.
The Liberty Oak decor is a masterclass in detail. It captures the fiery undertones and complex grain structures of classic American red oak, providing a high-contrast look that pairs exquisitely with both antique furnishings and crisp, modern white walls. As a flagship product in the Balterio flooring lineup, it utilises “True-to-Nature” technology—ensuring that the texture you feel underfoot is perfectly synchronized with the visual knots and swirls of the wood.
HydroShield Technology: Water-Resistant Innovation
In a busy Irish household, beauty must be backed by “life-proof” durability. The Supreme Hydro range is engineered to thrive in environments where traditional wood floors might struggle, ensuring your investment remains flawless for years to come.
- HydroShield Protection: This floor is 100% water-resistant for up to 24 hours. Thanks to Balterio’s advanced HydroGuard coating and precision-milled joints, moisture is kept on the surface rather than seeping into the core. This makes Liberty Oak a perfect candidate for kitchens, utility rooms, and bathrooms.
- AC4 Abrasion Rating: With a commercial-grade durability rating, this 8mm laminate is built to withstand the “daily grind”—from the heavy footfall of a busy hallway to the playful antics of family pets.
-
Sun-Drenched Stability: The 8mm high-density core provides excellent thermal stability, making it a brilliant choice for south-facing sunrooms where temperature fluctuations are common.

Ask a Question
1. Does the "Red Oak" tone clash with modern grey color schemes? Actually, it creates a stunning "Modern Heritage" look. The warmth of the Liberty Oak provides a necessary organic contrast to cool grey walls or cabinetry, preventing a room from feeling too sterile. It acts as a visual anchor that makes modern spaces feel more lived-in and welcoming.
2. Can I use a steam mop on water-resistant laminate like Liberty Oak? While the floor is water-resistant, we generally advise against steam mops. The extreme heat can potentially break down the resin bonds in the wear layer over time. Because Liberty Oak has a non-porous HydroShield surface, a simple damp microfibre mop is all you need to keep it pristine.
3. Why is an 8mm AC4 board better for renovations than 12mm? In many Irish homes, fitting a 12mm board plus underlay can lead to issues with door heights and skirting boards. The 8mm profile of Supreme Hydro provides the same AC4 commercial durability as thicker boards but with a lower profile, making it a much more "renovation-friendly" option that saves you the labor of trimming doors.
Recommended Underlay
The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Balterio laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
