Infuse Warmth into Your Home with Supreme 4V Caramel Oak
When it comes to creating a cozy, inviting atmosphere, the floor you choose acts as the heartbeat of your interior design. The Supreme 4V Caramel Oak from Balterio is a masterclass in combining traditional charm with modern resilience. Featuring a rich, golden-brown caramel hue, this floor brings an immediate sense of comfort and sun-drenched warmth to any room. At Floorstore Direct, we have established ourselves as the best place in Ireland to buy laminate flooringbecause we understand that Irish homes need a perfect blend of high-end aesthetics and rugged, everyday practicality.
Part of the world-renowned Balterio collection, Caramel Oak is designed for those who appreciate the finer details of natural wood. Unlike standard flat laminates, this range features a sophisticated grain pattern and a 4-sided V-groove (4V) design. These beveled edges define each individual plank, providing the authentic depth and dimension of a solid oak floor while maintaining the effortless maintenance of a high-quality laminate.
Exceptional Performance: 8mm Thickness & AC4 Durability
The beauty of Balterio flooring lies in its “True-to-Nature” philosophy—it looks like wood, but it performs like a fortress. Supreme 4V Caramel Oak is engineered to handle the “beautiful chaos” of a busy household without losing its luster.
- AC4 Abrasion Rating: This classification means the floor is certified for heavy domestic use. Whether it’s the constant scuffling of pets, the friction of dining chairs, or high-traffic hallway paths, this floor is built to resist scratches and wear.
- 8mm Precision Engineering: At 8mm thick, these planks offer the perfect balance of stability and versatility. They are robust enough to feel solid underfoot while remaining slim enough to be an ideal choice for renovation projects where floor height transitions are a priority.
- Click-Fit Installation: Time is a luxury. Balterio’s precision click system ensures a swift, gap-free installation that is a favorite among both professional fitters and DIY enthusiasts across Ireland.

Ask a Question
1. Does the "Caramel" tone work well with modern grey interiors? Absolutely. Caramel Oak acts as an "organic balancer." While grey interiors can sometimes feel cool or clinical, the warm golden undertones of this floor provide a necessary contrast, adding "soul" and warmth back into a modern, neutral color palette.
2. Is the 4-sided V-groove (4V) harder to keep clean? Not at all. Balterio’s V-grooves are precision-milled and finished with the same protective wear layer as the plank surface. A simple vacuum with a brush attachment or a damp microfibre mop is all you need to keep the grooves free of dust and looking sharp.
3. Why is an 8mm AC4 floor recommended for rental properties? For landlords and property managers, durability and cost-efficiency are key. An AC4 rating ensures the floor can withstand different tenants over many years, while the 8mm profile makes it incredibly easy to install over existing subfloors, providing a premium look that increases rental appeal without the premium price tag of solid wood.
Recommended Underlay
The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Balterio laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
