Product Description

Classic elegance meets modern craftsmanship with Hampton Oak Herringbone, a stunning 14mm engineered herringbone floor that embodies sophistication, warmth, and lasting quality. Available from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading supplier of engineered floors, herringbone floors, and hardwood flooring, this beautifully finished oak floor brings timeless style and durability to any interior. With its brushed and matt lacquer finish, Hampton Oak Herringbone is a refined choice that transforms both traditional and contemporary spaces with ease.

Every block of Hampton Oak Herringbone is carefully crafted from premium European oak, selected for its natural beauty and fine grain. The brushed finish enhances the organic texture of the timber, creating a tactile surface that showcases the oak’s grain in stunning detail. The brushing process gently removes the softer fibres of the wood, leaving behind a lightly textured feel that’s both elegant and authentic. This technique not only accentuates the floor’s character but also makes it more resistant to the minor wear of everyday use.

The matt lacquer finish provides the perfect balance between natural appearance and lasting protection. It seals the surface with a thin, invisible layer that guards against scratches, stains, and scuffs while maintaining the soft, natural sheen of raw oak. The result is a floor that feels warm underfoot, looks effortlessly sophisticated, and is easy to maintain — ideal for busy family homes, stylish apartments, or boutique commercial spaces.

The herringbone pattern is a timeless symbol of luxury and design heritage. Its interlocking geometric layout creates a sense of depth and movement that enhances any room, from elegant hallways and living spaces to hotel lobbies and restaurants. Whether paired with modern minimalist décor or classic furnishings, Hampton Oak Herringbone adds structure, visual interest, and undeniable charm.

The rustic A/Nature grading highlights the best of natural oak. Expect smaller knots, subtle colour variations, and gentle tones of sapwood that give the floor authenticity without overpowering its refined finish. Each piece of oak is unique, ensuring your floor has a one-of-a-kind look that reflects nature’s craftsmanship.

At 14mm thick, this engineered herringbone floor combines beauty and practicality. Its multi-layer construction provides exceptional stability and resistance to changes in humidity or temperature — perfect for Ireland’s climate. It’s also compatible with underfloor heating, ensuring year-round comfort and warmth.

For the best results, Hampton Oak Herringbone must be glued directly to the subfloor, creating a strong, stable, and high-end finish. This installation method enhances both the durability and acoustics of the floor, delivering a premium result worthy of the most elegant interiors.

Recommend Adhesive

Our Engineered Herringbone must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Stateside Herringbone is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
