Uncompromising Strength: Kronotex Robusto Luxor Oak Grey
If you are looking for a floor that combines high-concept urban design with absolute, industrial-grade durability, Robusto Luxor Oak Grey from Kronotex is the ultimate choice. This floor is crafted for spaces where compromising on strength is simply not an option. At Floorstore Direct, we have earned our reputation as the best place in Ireland to buy laminate flooring by curating collections that meet the demanding needs of busy Irish homes and commercial spaces alike.
Luxor Oak Grey is a masterclass in modern neutral palettes, blending sophisticated cool greys with warm, organic brown undertones. This unique grey-brown coloration creates a highly versatile, multi-tonal canvas that pairs effortlessly with minimalist monochrome décors, warm textiles, or industrial metal finishes. As a centerpiece of the premium Kronotex flooring collection, it features an expertly registered embossed (ER) surface finish that replicates the genuine texture, fine lines, and natural shimmer of real brushed oak.
Built Like a Fortress: 12mm AC5 Architectural Engineering
In a bustling household or high-traffic commercial setting, a floor must be built to survive life’s heavy impacts. The Robusto range is engineered specifically for maximum resistance and longevity.
- 12mm Heavy-Duty Profile: The robust 12mm thickness delivers immense structural stability. It provides a solid, premium feel underfoot with excellent acoustic properties, dramatically reducing impact sound and eliminating the hollow noise common in cheaper alternatives.
- AC5 Commercial Durability Rating: This is the highest residential wear rating available. It is highly scratch-resistant, impact-proof, and designed to withstand the constant scraping of furniture, heavy pet claws, and heavy foot traffic.
- Advanced Water Resistance: Equipped with Kronotex’s advanced moisture protection core, this floor is designed to repel spills. It ensures your stunning grey-brown oak planks remain warp-free and beautiful even in moisture-prone zones like kitchens and hallways.

Ask a Question
1. Does the grey-brown tone of Luxor Oak Grey make a room feel dark or cold? Not at all! Unlike flat greys, the subtle brown undertones in Luxor Oak Grey bring a natural, earthy warmth to the room. The registered embossed texture catches the light beautifully, creating a dynamic surface that feels bright, modern, and incredibly welcoming.
2. Is a 12mm AC5 floor too thick for standard residential renovations? While 8mm or 10mm floors are great, a 12mm AC5 board is the gold standard. It provides a solid feel underfoot that feels identical to solid wood. It's particularly ideal if your subfloor has minor imperfections, as the thicker 12mm board spans unevenness better than thinner alternatives.
Recommended Underlay
The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Kronotex laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
