Product Description
Rich, warm, and timelessly elegant, Renaissance XL Oak Giovanni is the perfect blend of natural beauty and master craftsmanship. Available from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading specialist in engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this exquisite 20mm oak floor captures the authenticity of traditional timber with the sophistication of modern finishing. With an uneven original surface, brown stain, and UV oiled finish, Oak Giovanni delivers an organic, handcrafted look that transforms interiors with depth, warmth, and lasting character.
Each plank of Renaissance XL Oak Giovanni tells its own story. The uneven original surface retains the natural texture and undulating contours of real oak, offering a tactile, handcrafted quality reminiscent of antique wood floors found in stately European homes. This unique texture enhances the floor’s natural grain, giving it a sense of depth and movement that machine-smooth finishes simply can’t replicate. The brown stain adds a layer of rich, earthy tone, deepening the oak’s natural warmth while highlighting its stunning wood grain. Finished with a protective UV oil, the floor achieves a subtle sheen that enhances its colour and texture, creating a timeless look that balances rustic charm with refined luxury.
The UV oiled finish not only enhances the natural appearance but also provides exceptional protection and longevity. The oil penetrates deep into the oak fibres, preserving the wood’s strength while maintaining a breathable surface. This finish ensures durability against everyday wear, stains, and moisture, while allowing the floor to age gracefully and develop a natural patina over time. Its low sheen appearance reflects the light beautifully, creating an inviting and luxurious feel underfoot.
The standout feature of Renaissance XL Oak Giovanni lies in its extra wide board design, with planks available in widths ranging from 280mm to 480mm. These expansive boards create a sense of scale and spaciousness, allowing the natural grain and variation of the oak to take centre stage. The wider format also reduces the number of joins, giving a seamless and continuous flow that enhances both traditional and contemporary interiors. Perfect for large open-plan spaces or boutique-style rooms, Oak Giovanni brings understated grandeur to any setting.
The rustic/character grading celebrates the true personality of oak. Expect visible knots, natural colour variation, and occasional sapwood, which add to the authenticity and warmth of the design. Each plank is unique, ensuring that no two floors are ever the same — a hallmark of genuine hardwood craftsmanship.
Constructed as a 20mm multi-layered engineered floor, Renaissance XL Oak Giovanni combines the strength of modern engineering with the beauty of solid oak. Unlike traditional hardwood, engineered flooring resists warping and expansion caused by temperature or humidity, making it perfectly suited to Ireland’s climate and underfloor heating systems.
For the best installation results, Renaissance XL Oak Giovanni must be glued directly to the subfloor, providing exceptional stability, reduced sound, and a solid, premium feel underfoot.

Recommend Adhesive
Because of the excessive length and width of our Renaissance XL Boards we advise them to be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Renaissance Engineered Flooring is slightly different than most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. However, while we still advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor, we also recommend occasional use with a maintenance oil and our Magic Oil Care. This will help replenish the oils that may be lost through cleaning. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
