Renaissance 19mm Oak Messina is a beautiful, modern, Smoked, Extra White UV Oil/Wax Engineered floor. This floor has modern light, white and grey tones running through the oak. The Renaissance collection is a premium range of extra wide plank floors made from the finest quality European Oak. While the birch plywood construction gives it optimum stability. Because it features a staggering 260mm width and 2.4m length, these boards are exceptional and expansive in their size and character. The total thickness of the board is 21mm while the solid layer is 6mm, because of this you will have the firmest feel possible. The oiled finish gives you the most natural look and feel possible. This board comes with a planed design. Because of this your board may result in a slightly rougher texture around knots.

Product Description

Bright, elegant, and full of character, Renaissance Oak Messina is a stunning engineered wood floor that perfectly blends modern refinement with natural authenticity. Available from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this luxurious 19mm oak floor features a smoked, planed, and extra white UV oiled finish. With its extra wide 260mm planks, Renaissance Oak Messina is designed to make a visual impact, adding light, warmth, and a sense of space to any room.

Each plank of Renaissance Oak Messina is crafted with precision and care to bring out the natural beauty of European oak. The smoked finish enriches the timber’s tone from within, enhancing the depth and contrast in the grain. The planed surface adds a hand-crafted texture that highlights the natural lines and patterns of the wood, giving the floor an authentic, tactile feel. Over this, an extra white UV oil is applied to create a soft, airy hue that beautifully balances contemporary style with traditional warmth. The result is a floor that feels both sophisticated and inviting — a perfect foundation for bright, open-plan living spaces or calm, coastal-inspired interiors.

The UV oiled finish doesn’t just add beauty; it provides lasting protection. It seals the surface while allowing the oak to breathe naturally, ensuring long-term durability and easy maintenance. The finish also enhances the floor’s subtle sheen, creating a look that’s both natural and luxurious.

The rustic/character grading of Renaissance Oak Messina celebrates the individuality of real wood. Each plank features visible knots, colour variation, grain texture, and touches of sapwood, giving the floor its unmistakable charm and authenticity. This variation is what makes hardwood flooring so unique — every board tells its own story, ensuring that no two installations are ever identical.

Built for strength as well as style, this 19mm multi-layered engineered floor combines the timeless appearance of solid oak with the advanced performance of engineered construction. Unlike solid wood, engineered flooring is designed to resist warping or movement caused by humidity or temperature changes, making it ideal for Ireland’s climate. The result is a floor that not only looks beautiful but performs exceptionally well for decades.

For best results, Renaissance Oak Messina must be glued directly to the subfloor. This ensures a secure, stable fit and enhances the solid, premium feel underfoot that distinguishes quality engineered flooring from ordinary alternatives.

Recommend Adhesive

Because of the excessive length and width of our Renaissance Boards we advise them to be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Renaissance Engineered Flooring is slightly different than most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. However, while we still advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor, we also recommend occasional use with a maintenance oil and our Magic Oil Care. This will help replenish the oils that may be lost through cleaning. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
