Product Description
Bold, dramatic, and full of old-world charm, Renaissance Oak Carvaggio is a masterpiece in engineered wood flooring design. Available from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this luxurious 19mm oak floor features a planed, smoked, distressed, and black UV oiled finish. Its extra wide 260mm boards command attention, offering a statement look that exudes both sophistication and strength. Combining the natural beauty of real oak with modern performance, Renaissance Oak Carvaggio is the perfect blend of art and craftsmanship for the modern Irish home.
Each plank of Renaissance Oak Carvaggio tells a story of heritage and refinement. The smoked finish enriches the oak with deep, earthy tones of espresso and walnut, giving the wood a warm, time-worn depth. The planed surface creates subtle texture, mimicking the hand-scraped finishes of traditional floors, while the distressed detailing adds an authentic aged effect that captures the essence of reclaimed timber. The black UV oil completes the look with a sleek, natural lustre that enhances the grain while providing a durable, protective coating. The result is a floor that feels both rustic and luxurious — rich in character yet perfectly suited to contemporary living.
The rustic/character grading of Renaissance Oak Carvaggio celebrates the raw, organic beauty of natural oak. Expect visible knots, variations in tone, grain detail, and areas of sapwood that make every board unique. This individuality gives the floor an inviting authenticity, evoking the atmosphere of historic European manors and artisan-crafted spaces. The deep black tones contrast beautifully with lighter furnishings and neutral palettes, creating a bold focal point in any room. Whether used in an open-plan living area, a grand hallway, or a boutique-style commercial space, Carvaggio adds an unmistakable touch of sophistication and warmth.
Built to last, this 19mm multi-layered engineered floor combines the strength of solid oak with the structural integrity of engineered construction. Unlike traditional hardwood flooring, engineered floors are designed to withstand Ireland’s changing climate, resisting movement caused by temperature or humidity fluctuations. This ensures lasting beauty and stability — a perfect choice for Irish homes that demand both elegance and durability.
For the best results, Renaissance Oak Carvaggio must be glued directly to the subfloor. This method provides maximum stability and enhances the floor’s luxurious, solid feel underfoot.

Recommend Adhesive
Because of the excessive length and width of our Renaissance Boards we advise them to be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Renaissance Engineered Flooring is slightly different than most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. However, while we still advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor, we also recommend occasional use with a maintenance oil and our Magic Oil Care. This will help replenish the oils that may be lost through cleaning. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
