Exclusive Special Offer: 44 Square Metres of Karndean Palio Rigid Palmaria
Are you planning a home renovation and looking for the ultimate combination of luxury, durability, and value? At Floorstore Direct, we have secured a sensational special offer on a 44 square metre bundle of Palio Rigid Palmaria. This premium LVT floor from the renowned Palio Express by Karndean range is the perfect solution for medium-to-large projects, whether you are refreshing a contemporary open-plan kitchen or upgrading an entire apartment floor.
The Resilience of Palmaria: Advanced SPC Flooring
Palio Rigid Palmaria is not your average vinyl. It is a high-performance SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) floor, designed specifically for the demands of the modern Irish household. At 4.5mm thick, it strikes the perfect balance between a sleek, low-profile aesthetic and incredible structural integrity.
As a 100% waterproof floor, Palmaria is impervious to the splashes of a busy bathroom or the spills of a family dining area. While many homeowners compare this range to Coretec flooring, Karndean’s Palio Rigid series is uniquely celebrated for its dimensional stability. It won’t warp in a humid utility room or expand in a sun-drenched conservatory, making it a “fit-and-forget” solution that remains beautiful for decades.
Silence and Comfort with Integrated Rubber Underlay
One of the most practical features of this Karndean flooring is the pre-attached acoustic rubber underlay. This built-in layer provides several key benefits for your home:
- Enhanced Acoustics: It reduces noise transfer to rooms below by 19dB—essential for peaceful living in multi-storey homes or apartments.
- Warmer Underfoot: The rubber acts as a thermal barrier, ensuring the floor feels far warmer than real stone or ceramic tiles during those cold Irish winters.
- Rapid Click Installation: The patented 2G™ click-locking system allows for a fast, secure installation without the need for messy adhesives or separate underlay rolls.

Ask a Question
1. Is 44 square metres enough to cover multiple rooms? A 44m² bundle is roughly equivalent to the size of a standard large kitchen and dining area combined, or two generous double bedrooms with a small hallway. We always recommend measuring your space and adding a 10% wastage allowance for cuts to ensure this special offer bundle meets your specific room requirements.
2. Can I install Palio Rigid Palmaria over my existing floor? Yes! Because of its rigid SPC core, Palmaria can be installed directly over most existing hard floors, such as ceramic tiles or floorboards. Unlike thinner, flexible vinyl, it won't "telegraph" the grout lines or minor imperfections of the floor beneath, saving you time and money on subfloor preparation.
3. Is this 4.5mm floor compatible with underfloor heating? Absolutely. Palio Rigid Palmaria is fully compatible with most water-based underfloor heating systems (up to 27°C). The dense core and integrated rubber underlay are excellent conductors of heat, ensuring your room warms up quickly and stays cosy.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Palio Express by Karndean Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
