Product Description

Dramatic Character: Nature’s Finest Truffle Walnut

If you are searching for a floor that breaks away from the ordinary to provide a bold, architectural statement, the Nature’s Finest Truffle Walnut from Egger is an unrivaled selection. This floor is designed for those who crave the complex beauty of old-world timber reimagined for the modern home. At Floorstore Direct, we have earned our reputation as the best place in Ireland to buy laminate flooring by offering high-performance collections that pair striking European aesthetics with the rugged durability required for Irish life.

Previously known to designers as Grey Perganti Walnut, this iconic decor has been updated under the Nature’s Finest banner. It retains its legendary “heavy rustic” style, featuring deep, expressive grain patterns, authentic knots, and a unique greyish-brown palette that mimics rare, aged walnut. As a standout in the Egger flooring range, Truffle Walnut acts as a sophisticated anchor for your interior, pairing beautifully with leather, exposed brick, or sleek contemporary metals.

The 12mm Powerhouse: AC4 Heavy-Duty Engineering

In a busy Irish household, a floor needs more than just a beautiful face; it needs a rock-solid heart. Truffle Walnut is engineered with a substantial 12mm profile, placing it in the elite category of residential laminates.

  • 12mm Architectural Profile: The extra thickness provides a substantial, solid feel underfoot and superior acoustic insulation. It eliminates the hollow “click” sound of thinner boards, giving your home the premium weight and “thud” of a solid wood installation.

  • Water-Resistant Swell Protection: Built with Egger’s advanced HDF+ core technology, this floor is “life-proof.” From damp footprints in the hallway to kitchen spills, the water-resistant surface ensures your investment remains stable and gorgeous for decades.

  • AC4 Durability Rating: Certified for heavy residential use, this 12mm laminate is engineered to resist micro-scratches from pets, high heels, and the movement of heavy furniture.

Ask a Question

1. Is "Truffle Walnut" the exact same colour as the old "Grey Perganti Walnut"? Yes! While Egger has transitioned the name to Truffle Walnut within the Nature’s Finest collection, the visual decor and sophisticated grey-brown walnut tones remain identical. If you are trying to match an existing floor or finish a project started with Grey Perganti Walnut, this is the exact match you need.

2. Does a "Heavy Rustic" style make the floor harder to clean? Surprisingly, no. While the surface features deep grain textures and visual "cracks" to mimic aged wood, the melamine protective layer is non-porous. Unlike real reclaimed wood which can trap dirt, this laminate surface is sealed and water-resistant, meaning a simple damp microfibre mop will keep it looking pristine.

3. Does the greyish-brown tone make a room feel darker? Because Truffle Walnut features a multi-tonal grain, it actually reflects light differently throughout the day. When paired with light-coloured walls and "greige" textiles, it creates a high-end, grounded atmosphere. It is the perfect floor to make a large, open-plan space feel more intimate and expensive.

Recommended Underlay

The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Egger laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
