Illuminate Your Home with Nature’s Finest Dawn Oak
If you are looking to breathe new life into your interior with a floor that feels fresh, expansive, and effortlessly modern, the Nature’s Finest Dawn Oak from Egger is the ultimate solution. This floor is a masterclass in light-enhancing design, featuring a soft, light grey palette that captures the first glow of morning light. At Floorstore Direct, we have earned our reputation as the best place in Ireland to buy laminate flooring by providing premium solutions that balance high-end aesthetics with the practicalities of everyday Irish life.
Previously known to homeowners and designers as Light Toscolano Oak, this beloved decor has been updated under the Nature’s Finest banner. It retains the same elegant, subtle grain and weathered charm that made it a bestseller, now featuring an enhanced 12mm profile. As a centerpiece of the Egger flooring collection, it offers a clean, Scandinavian-inspired look that makes even the most compact rooms feel airy and limitless.
The 12mm Advantage: AC4 Water-Resistant Excellence
In the world of flooring, thickness dictates the feel of a home. Dawn Oak isn’t just a surface; it’s a substantial 12mm foundation engineered to handle the “beautiful chaos” of a busy household.
-
12mm Architectural Profile: The substantial 12mm thickness provides a rock-solid feel underfoot and superior acoustic performance. It eliminates the hollow “click” often associated with thinner floors, giving your home the premium weight and “thud” of solid hardwood.
-
Water-Resistant Swell Protection: Built with Egger’s advanced HDF+ core technology, this floor is designed for real life. From damp footprints in the hallway to kitchen splashes, the water-resistant surface ensures your investment remains stable and gorgeous for years.
-
AC4 Durability Rating: Certified for heavy residential use, this laminate is engineered to resist micro-scratches from pets, high heels, and the movement of furniture.

Ask a Question
1. Is "Dawn Oak" the exact same colour as the old "Light Toscolano Oak"? Yes! While Egger has transitioned the name to Dawn Oak within the Nature’s Finest collection, the visual decor and soft grey tones remain identical. If you are looking to finish a project started with Light Toscolano Oak, this is the exact match you need.
2. What are the benefits of a 12mm board for a light-coloured floor? The 12mm thickness allows for a deeper, more realistic "Deepskin" texture. On a light floor like Dawn Oak, this extra depth prevents the floor from looking "flat" or clinical, ensuring it maintains the tactile, organic character of real timber even in bright light.
3. Is it difficult to keep a light grey floor clean in a busy house? Surprisingly, light grey is one of the most practical colours available. Unlike very dark floors that highlight every speck of white dust, or high-gloss floors that show streaks, the matte, multi-tonal finish of Dawn Oak naturally camouflages light debris and pet hair. A simple sweep and a damp microfibre mop are all it takes to maintain its fresh look.
Recommended Underlay
The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Egger laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
