Timeless Character: Nature’s Finest Biscuit Oak
If you are searching for a floor that perfectly captures the golden, organic essence of reclaimed timber, the Nature’s Finest Biscuit Oak from Egger is an unrivaled selection. This floor is designed for those who appreciate a classic, natural oak palette that radiates warmth while embracing a rugged, lived-in charm. At Floorstore Direct, we have earned our reputation as the best place in Ireland to buy laminate flooring by providing homeowners with products that bridge the gap between a historic aesthetic and modern engineering.
Previously known to many as Natural Melba Oak, this decor has been reimagined under the Nature’s Finest banner. It retains the same beloved character—featuring a rich, honeyed-biscuit hue with intricate grain details, authentic knots, and rustic “cracks” that add a sophisticated, farmhouse touch to any room. As a centerpiece of the Egger flooring collection, it offers a “Deepskin” surface structure, ensuring the floor feels as tactile and authentic as genuine brushed oak.
The 12mm Advantage: AC4 Water-Resistant Durability
In the world of flooring, thickness dictates the soul of a home. Biscuit Oak is not just a surface; it is a substantial 12mm foundation engineered to handle the “beautiful chaos” of a busy Irish household.
-
12mm Architectural Profile: The substantial thickness provides a rock-solid feel underfoot and superior acoustic performance. It eliminates the hollow “click” often associated with thinner floors, giving your home the premium weight and “thud” of solid hardwood.
-
Water-Resistant Swell Protection: Built with Egger’s advanced HDF+ core technology, this floor is designed to handle everyday life. From damp footprints in the hallway to kitchen splashes, the water-resistant surface ensures your investment remains stable for years.
-
AC4 Durability Rating: Certified for heavy residential use, this laminate is engineered to resist micro-scratches from pets, high heels, and the constant movement of furniture.

Ask a Question
1. Is "Biscuit Oak" the exact same colour as the old "Natural Melba Oak"? Yes! While Egger has transitioned the name to Biscuit Oak within the Nature’s Finest collection, the visual decor and warm, rustic oak tones remain identical. If you are extending a project started with Natural Melba Oak, this is the exact match you need.
2. Does the "Rustic Style" make the floor harder to clean? Not at all. While the Deepskin texture mimics the knots and grains of real wood, the surface remains non-porous and dirt-repellent. Unlike real rustic wood, which can trap dust in deep crevices, this laminate surface is sealed, meaning a simple damp microfibre mop will keep it looking pristine.
3. Why should I choose 12mm over 8mm for a rustic floor? The 12mm thickness allows for a deeper, more realistic embossed texture, which enhances the rustic look. Furthermore, the extra thickness provides better stability for the click-joints, ensuring that the heavy grain pattern remains seamless and beautiful even in the highest-traffic areas of your home.
Recommended Underlay
The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Egger laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
