Product Description

Infuse Your Home with the Glow of Nature’s Choice Golden Oak

If you are searching for a floor that radiates warmth and timeless appeal, the Nature’s Choice Golden Oak from Egger is an exquisite choice. Designed to capture the essence of sun-drenched timber, this floor brings a welcoming, honey-toned glow to any interior. At Floorstore Direct, we have built our reputation as the best place in Ireland to buy laminate flooring by offering world-class products that perfectly balance traditional charm with modern performance.

Previously known to designers and homeowners as Honey Elva Oak, this beloved decor has been transitioned into the Nature’s Choice collection. It retains the same rich, mid-oak palette and authentic grain patterns that made it a fan favorite, now backed by enhanced engineering. As a premier entry in the Egger flooring lineup, it acts as a versatile canvas, pairing beautifully with both rustic farmhouse decor and sleek, modern furnishings.

Built for the Irish Home: 8mm AC4 Water-Resistant Durability

We understand that an Irish household needs a floor that can handle everything from muddy paws to kitchen spills. The Golden Oak is engineered to be as resilient as it is radiant.

  • Water-Resistant Protection: This floor features Egger’s advanced HDF core technology, providing a high level of moisture resistance. Whether it’s a splash in the hallway or a spill in the dining room, the water-resistant surface ensures your floor remains stable and beautiful for years to come.

  • AC4 Abrasion Rating: Certified for heavy residential use, this 8mm laminate is built to resist the daily “wear and tear”—from high-traffic hallways to the playful energy of family life.

  • Deepskin Surface Texture: This isn’t just a flat print; the Deepskin finish provides a tactile, authentic feel that mimics the natural pores of oak, giving you the luxury of wood without the high maintenance of sanding and oiling.

Ask a Question

1. Is "Golden Oak" the exact same colour as the old "Honey Elva Oak"? Yes! While Egger has updated the name to Golden Oak within the Nature’s Choice range, the decor and warm honey tones are identical. If you are looking to extend an existing floor or replace a section of Honey Elva Oak, this is the exact match you need.

2. Does the "Golden" tone clash with modern grey color schemes? Actually, it’s a designer’s secret weapon. Warm mid-oak tones like Golden Oak provide a necessary organic "anchor" in cool grey or blue rooms. It prevents modern spaces from feeling too clinical, adding a layer of sophisticated warmth that makes the room feel much more lived-in.

3. Is this floor suitable for a kitchen or utility room? Yes. Thanks to its water-resistant construction and AC4 rating, it is perfectly suited for kitchens. It can handle the moisture and humidity associated with cooking and laundry, provided that large spills are wiped up promptly. It offers a much warmer and more comfortable surface underfoot compared to traditional stone tiles.

Recommended Underlay

The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Egger laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
