Why Natural Casella Oak Herringbone is a Game-Changer
Choosing herringbone flooring used to mean a difficult installation and a high price tag. However, the Natural Casella Oak 8mm laminate changes the rules. It features the revolutionary UniZip system, allowing you to create that iconic zigzag pattern using just one type of plank. No more worrying about “Left” and “Right” boards—just a seamless, efficient installation process for DIYers and pros alike.
Key benefits of this Egger flooring include:
- AC4 Durability: Engineered for heavy residential use, this floor is tough enough to handle the “beautiful chaos” of busy families, pets, and high-traffic areas.
- Nature Sense Texture: Featuring a “Natural Pore” surface, the floor doesn’t just look like wood—it feels like it.The texture is perfectly synchronised with the grain for a truly tactile experience.
- Underfloor Heating Compatible: Perfectly suited for water-based underfloor heating, ensuring your home stays cozy while maintaining excellent thermal efficiency.
- Sustainable Quality: 100% PVC-free and crafted from sustainably sourced wood, making it a healthy choice for your family and the planet.

Ask a Question
1. Does the herringbone pattern make a small room look crowded? On the contrary! The diagonal lines of a herringbone floor create an optical illusion of width and movement, which can actually make a smaller room feel more expansive and grand.
2. How do I maintain the "Natural Pore" finish? Maintenance is easy. The surface is dirt-repellent and anti-static. Simply sweep or vacuum regularly and use a well-wrung damp mop with a dedicated laminate cleaner to keep the natural oak tones looking vibrant.
3. Is the 8mm thickness sufficient for a busy hallway? Absolutely. While thickness adds to the feel of the board, the AC4 rating is the true measure of durability. This floor is specifically designed to resist the scuffs, scratches, and impacts typical of high-traffic residential areas.
Recommended Underlay
The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Egger laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
