Product Description
Contemporary Mood: Nature Sense Grey Avery Oak
If you are looking to transform a room with a sleek, modern edge without breaking the bank, the Grey Avery Oak from the Egger Nature Sense range is a standout contender. This floor is designed for those who love the “Cool City” aesthetic—a deep, dark grey palette that brings immediate sophistication to any space. At Floorstore Direct, we have built our reputation as the best place in Ireland to buy laminate flooring by offering high-quality European designs that fit every budget and style.
Grey Avery Oak features a contemporary dark grey tone highlighted by realistic knots and “cracks” that give the boards a high-quality, authentic wood appearance. As a key part of the Egger flooring collection, it utilizes an Omnipore surface structure. This texture follows the natural grain of the oak, ensuring that the floor looks premium and multi-dimensional rather than flat. It is the perfect backdrop for light-coloured furniture, vibrant artwork, or sleek, industrial-style accessories.
Practical Performance: The 7mm AC3 Advantage
While some projects require heavy-duty architectural boards, many residential spaces benefit from a sleeker, more versatile profile. Grey Avery Oak is engineered to be a reliable “all-rounder” for the modern home.
-
7mm Versatile Profile: The 7mm thickness makes this floor an ideal choice for upstairs bedrooms, home offices, or guest rooms where door clearance might be tight. It provides a stable, uniform surface that is easy to handle and quick to install.
-
AC3 Durability Rating: Certified for heavy domestic use (Class 31), this 7mm laminate is built to withstand the daily footfall of a busy household. The wear-resistant surface is light-fast and non-fading, meaning your dark grey finish will stay vibrant even in rooms with plenty of natural sunlight.
-
CLIC it! System: DIY-friendly and professional-approved, the CLIC it! installation system ensures a form-fitting, gap-free finish. It’s a glue-free process that allows you to revamp your room in a single afternoon.

Ask a Question
1. Is "Grey Avery Oak" the same as the dark grey oak I’ve seen in other Egger ranges? Grey Avery Oak is unique for its "cool" grey colour scheme and subtle rustic details like knots and cracks. If you are looking for a dark grey that feels modern rather than "old-fashioned rustic," this is the specific decor you need.
2. Can I use a 7mm AC3 floor in my hallway or living room? Yes, an AC3 rating is perfectly suitable for heavy residential use. While a 10mm or 12mm board offers more "weight" underfoot, the 7mm Avery Oak provides excellent value and durability for all standard living areas. For high-traffic hallways, we simply recommend pairing it with a high-quality underlay to maximize comfort.
3. Does this floor require special cleaning because of the dark colour? Dark grey is remarkably good at hiding many types of household debris, but it can show light-coloured dust. Because the Omnipore surface is dirt-repellent and anti-static, a quick sweep or a damp microfibre mop is all it takes to keep it looking pristine.
Recommended Underlay
The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Egger laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
