Why Choose Dark Dunnington Oak 8mm?
The beauty of Dark Dunnington Oak is more than just its high-impact visual appeal. This is a floor designed for the demands of a modern Irish household. Boasting an AC4 durability rating, it is tough enough to handle high-traffic areas, from busy family living rooms to bustling home offices.
What truly makes this 8mm laminate flooring a market leader is its 24-hour water resistance. Equipped with the innovative Aqua CLIC it! system, this floor provides:
-
Peace of Mind: An airtight connection that protects the HDF core from everyday spills and splashes.
-
Versatility: The ability to bring a dark, rustic oak aesthetic into kitchens and bathrooms where standard laminates might struggle.
-
Easy Installation: A user-friendly click system that ensures a professional, seamless finish every time.

Ask a Question
1. Does the dark colour of Dunnington Oak show scratches easily? Thanks to the AC4 rating and Egger’s robust wear layer, this floor is highly resistant to micro-scratches. Its rustic texture also helps to mask minor wear and tear much better than a smooth, high-gloss floor would.
2. Is this floor suitable for use with underfloor heating? Yes! Dark Dunnington Oak is fully compatible with water-based underfloor heating systems. Its 8mm profile provides excellent thermal conductivity, keeping your room warm while remaining structurally stable.
3. How do I maintain the water-resistant seal? Maintaining the Aqua CLIC it! seal is simple. Just ensure you use the correct underlay and follow the installation instructions. For cleaning, a damp (not soaking) mop with a laminate-safe cleaner is all you need to keep it looking pristine.
Recommended Underlay
The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
