Product Description

Bold Sophistication: Nature Sense Anthracite Sherman Oak

If you are looking to make a powerful design statement, the Anthracite Sherman Oak from the Egger Nature Sense range is a peerless choice. This floor is designed for those who embrace the “industrial-chic” aesthetic—a moody, dark grey oak palette that captures the essence of burnt or charred timber. At Floorstore Direct, we have solidified our reputation as the best place in Ireland to buy laminate flooring by offering premium collections that combine high-concept European style with the rugged, lifeproof durability required for modern Irish homes.

Anthracite Sherman Oak is far more than a simple dark floor. It features a masterfully rendered “used effect,” where rustic grain patterns and worn textures create a sense of history and depth. As a standout in the Egger flooring lineup, it utilizes a Natural Pore surface texture. This synchronized embossing means the floor doesn’t just look like charcoal-aged oak; it feels like it too. It serves as the perfect high-contrast foundation for interiors featuring brass hardware, leather furniture, or minimalist white walls.

The 10mm Advantage: AC4 Water-Resistant Power

In a busy household, a floor needs to be as tough as it is beautiful. Anthracite Sherman Oak is engineered with a substantial 10mm profile, placing it in the elite category of resilient residential laminates.

  • 10mm Architectural Profile: The extra thickness provides a rock-solid feel underfoot and superior acoustic performance. It eliminates the hollow “click” often found in thinner boards, giving your home the premium weight and “thud” of solid hardwood.

  • Aqua CLIC it! Technology: Life is full of spills, but your floor shouldn’t suffer for them. This range features 24-hour water resistance, providing a dependable barrier against moisture. Whether it’s a splash in the kitchen or damp footprints in the hallway, the waterproof click system keeps your core board protected.

  • AC4 Durability Rating: Certified for heavy residential and commercial use, this laminate is built to resist micro-scratches from pets, high heels, and the constant movement of furniture.

Ask a Question

1. Does the dark "Anthracite" tone show more dust than lighter floors? While dark floors can highlight light-coloured dust, the Anthracite Sherman Oak decor is incredibly practical. Because it features a "used effect" and a rustic grain with various grey and black tones, it is much better at camouflaging everyday debris than a flat, solid black floor would be.

2. What are the benefits of the 10mm thickness over standard 8mm? The 10mm board offers superior structural stability and handles slight subfloor unevenness more effectively. Additionally, the extra density provides a much more natural sound when walked upon, making it a "quieter" floor for busy living rooms or open-plan areas.

3. Can I truly install this in a kitchen or bathroom? Yes! Thanks to the Aqua CLIC it! system and the moisture-resistant core board, this floor is designed for 24-hour water resistance. It is a fantastic, warmer alternative to cold tiles in humid areas. For the best results, we always recommend sealing the expansion gaps at the perimeter with a waterproof silicone during installation.

Recommended Underlay

The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Egger laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
