Ask a Question

1. What makes the "Melba Oak" design different from other grey oaks? The Melba Oak design is unique for its "striking pores" and slight cracks, which mimic the look of aged, weathered timber. This gives it a more authentic, rustic feel compared to more uniform, modern grey laminates.

2. Can I use a steam mop on my 7mm Egger laminate? We recommend avoiding steam mops on 7mm laminate.Instead, use a well-wrung damp mop with a dedicated laminate cleaner. The HDF+ core is moisture-resistant, but excessive heat and steam can damage the edges over time.

3. Is the AC3 rating sufficient for a busy family home? Yes! An AC3 rating is the standard for heavy domestic use. It is designed to withstand the daily wear and tear of pets, children, and high foot traffic in areas like living rooms and hallways.

Recommended Underlay

The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Egger laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
