Product Description
Introduce drama, texture, and timeless style into your home with Nature Corrib, a luxurious engineered wood floor that perfectly blends contemporary design with the warmth of natural oak. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this 14mm dark grey oak floor brings sophistication and strength to every space — ideal for modern Irish living.
Each plank of Nature Corrib is beautifully dark grey stained and brushed, revealing the natural grain and depth of real oak while giving it a striking, modern edge. The rich, smoky grey tone provides a perfect balance between rustic character and contemporary flair, while the matt lacquered finish enhances the texture and protects the surface from everyday wear and tear. The result is a durable yet elegant floor that feels luxurious underfoot and looks effortlessly stylish in any room.
As a rustic grade floor, Nature Corrib embraces the authentic imperfections that make real hardwood so appealing. Natural knots, subtle colour variations, and distinctive grain markings are celebrated rather than hidden, giving each plank its own unique story. This combination of natural beauty and modern finishing makes Nature Corrib ideal for homeowners who want a floor with character and personality — one that will continue to look better with age.
The 14mm engineered construction provides exceptional stability and strength, making it perfectly suited to Ireland’s varied climate. Unlike solid wood floors, engineered flooring is less affected by changes in temperature and humidity, ensuring your floor remains stable and secure for decades. This makes Nature Corrib not only a beautiful choice but also a practical one for Irish homes and commercial spaces alike.
Installation is easy and adaptable thanks to the tongue and groove system, allowing the floor to be floated over an underlay or glued directly to the subfloor for a more permanent fit. Whether you’re working with a professional installer or handling the job yourself, this system ensures a flawless, tight finish every time.
The deep grey tones of Nature Corrib pair beautifully with both light and dark interiors. They complement minimalist Scandinavian designs just as well as industrial or urban loft aesthetics. Add warmth with natural textures or create contrast with crisp white walls and metallic accents — this floor provides the perfect foundation for any style.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive
Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Nature Engineered Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
