Mountain Peak Oak is a 14mm engineered white oak, pre-finished in a UV matt lacquer to give a more natural look and feel. It has a Character/Rustic grade which means that it has a medium colour variation and beautiful large knots. The planks are 190mm wide, tongue & groove and come in fixed lengths. This floor has a brushed surface which gives the floor an added texture and natural style. Mountain Peak Oak has also been smoked to give it a darker appearance. On average, 15-20% of the pack will contain shortboards.
Product Description
Elegant, natural, and full of timeless charm, Mountain Peak Oak is a luxurious engineered wood floor that brings the warmth and beauty of real oak into your home. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s number one destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this exquisite 14mm oak floor features a smoked, planed, brushed, and matt lacquered finish, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern durability. Designed to enhance both classic and contemporary interiors, it’s a floor that transforms any space into a place of comfort and style.
Each plank of Mountain Peak Oak is beautifully detailed, showcasing the natural elegance of oak in every grain and tone. The smoked finish enriches the colour, infusing the wood with deep golden and mocha undertones that highlight its distinctive grain patterns. The planed surface gives the floor a gently textured, hand-crafted appearance, while the brushed finish further accentuates the organic grain, adding tactile dimension and visual depth. To complete the process, the matt lacquer coating provides a smooth, low-sheen layer that protects the surface while preserving the raw, natural beauty of the timber. The result is a luxurious oak floor that feels warm, inviting, and timeless.
The rustic/character grading of Mountain Peak Oak celebrates the individuality of natural wood. Expect to find knots, tonal variation, and sapwood, all of which add authenticity and depth to your flooring. These variations create a truly unique surface — no two planks are ever identical — giving your room a bespoke, handcrafted appearance. This natural diversity allows the floor to complement a wide range of interiors, from cosy country homes to sleek, modern living spaces.
Underneath its beautiful surface lies a strong and stable construction. This 14mm multi-layered engineered floorcombines the stunning look of solid oak with the technical reliability of engineered design. Unlike solid hardwood, engineered flooring is built to handle Ireland’s fluctuating climate, resisting movement caused by humidity and temperature changes. This ensures long-term stability, durability, and compatibility with underfloor heating — making it both a practical and elegant choice for Irish homes.
For the best installation results, Mountain Peak Oak must be glued directly to the subfloor. This method provides a secure, long-lasting fit and enhances the solid, premium feel of the flooring. When laid, the result is seamless — a flawless oak surface that radiates craftsmanship and sophistication.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive
Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Mountain Range is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
