Product Description
Rich, refined, and full of natural character, Mountain Dusk Oak is a premium engineered wood floor that perfectly blends craftsmanship, style, and durability. Available from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s trusted destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this 14mm oak floor features a stunning smoked, planed, brushed, and matt lacquered finish. Its deep tones and intricate grain details make it a timeless choice for anyone looking to bring warmth and sophistication to their home.
Every plank of Mountain Dusk Oak is designed to highlight the natural beauty of real oak. The smoked finish enriches the colour of the timber, creating a warm, dusky tone that exudes depth and elegance. Subtle variations of rich brown and golden hues flow through each plank, giving the floor a unique sense of movement and life. The planed and brushed finish enhances the texture and grain, adding a tactile, handcrafted feel that captures the authenticity of true hardwood. Finally, the matt lacquer provides a smooth, natural sheen that protects the surface from everyday wear while preserving its organic appearance. The result is a floor that feels timeless and inviting — perfect for both traditional interiors and contemporary spaces.
The rustic/character grading of Mountain Dusk Oak celebrates everything that makes hardwood flooring special. Each plank features natural knots, sapwood, and colour variation, ensuring that every floor is completely unique. These details give your space personality and depth, offering a floor that feels lived-in, warm, and full of character. It’s a perfect choice for anyone who appreciates the beauty of imperfection and the richness of natural materials.
Beneath its beautiful surface lies superior strength and stability. This 14mm multi-layered engineered floor combines the timeless look of solid oak with the structural performance of modern flooring technology. Unlike traditional hardwood, engineered flooring is designed to resist the effects of Ireland’s changing climate, preventing expansion and contraction caused by humidity and temperature fluctuations. This ensures a stable, long-lasting floor that maintains its flawless finish for years to come.
Installation is flexible and convenient. Mountain Dusk Oak can be glued directly to the subfloor for a secure, permanent installation or floated using its tongue and groove system for quicker, more adaptable fitting. Both options deliver a seamless and professional result, ensuring your floor looks stunning from day one.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive
Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Mountain Range is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
