Product Description

Warm, rich, and full of natural charm, Monolam Oak Pecan is a luxurious engineered wood floor that brings depth, character, and timeless elegance to any space. Available from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this 14mm oak floor features a beautifully balanced cognac colour stain, combined with a brushed and lacquered finish that perfectly showcases the beauty of real oak while ensuring long-lasting performance.

Each plank of Monolam Oak Pecan is expertly crafted to highlight the natural character of oak while enhancing it with a rich cognac stain. This deep, warm tone infuses your room with an inviting atmosphere, offering a perfect blend of traditional charm and modern luxury. The brushed surface adds texture and definition, drawing out the natural grain of the wood and creating a tactile, organic feel that captures the essence of handcrafted flooring. To complete the look, the lacquered finish provides a smooth, durable coating that protects against daily wear and tear while maintaining a soft, natural sheen. The result is a floor that looks stunning, feels authentic, and performs beautifully for years to come.

The universal grading of this floor embraces all the characteristics that make oak flooring so desirable. Each board includes a mix of natural variations — from knots and subtle sapwood to tonal differences — ensuring every installation is unique. This balanced grading creates a floor that feels natural yet sophisticated, adding warmth and personality to both contemporary and classic interiors. Whether you’re designing a cosy family home, a sleek apartment, or a stylish commercial space, Monolam Oak Pecan provides a versatile foundation that elevates every design.

Crafted with strength and stability in mind, this 14mm multi-layered engineered floor is designed to perform as beautifully as it looks. Unlike solid oak flooring, engineered flooring is built to handle Ireland’s variable climate, resisting movement caused by temperature or humidity changes. This ensures your floor stays smooth, secure, and stable — combining the charm of hardwood with the dependability of advanced engineering.

Installation is simple and flexible. Monolam Oak Pecan can be glued directly to the subfloor for a strong, permanent fit or floated using a tongue and groove system for quicker installation. Both methods provide a seamless, elegant finish that enhances the beauty of your floor and creates a luxurious feel underfoot.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive

Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Monolam Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
