Product Description

Rich, warm, and full of timeless character, Majestic Smoked & Lacquered Oak is a luxurious engineered wood floorthat transforms any space into an elegant and inviting retreat. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading destination for engineered flooring and hardwood floors, this 20mm oak floor combines the authenticity of real timber with modern durability and performance. With its smoked, brushed, and matt lacquer finish, it delivers a natural yet sophisticated aesthetic that enhances both classic and contemporary interiors.

Each plank of Majestic Smoked & Lacquered Oak has been smoked to deepen the colour tones of the oak, enriching it with a palette of warm browns, soft caramels, and rich amber shades. This treatment draws out the natural variation in the timber, giving every board its own distinctive personality. The surface is then brushed, which accentuates the natural grain pattern and adds a tactile texture that feels organic underfoot. Finally, the floor is sealed with a matt lacquer finishthat provides lasting protection without compromising its natural look. The lacquer enhances the surface’s resilience to scratches and wear, while maintaining a soft, low-sheen glow that highlights the true beauty of oak.

The rustic grading of this floor celebrates the natural character of hardwood. You’ll find visible knots, subtle colour variations, and touches of sapwood, all of which add depth and authenticity. These features ensure that no two floors are ever exactly alike — each installation becomes a one-of-a-kind statement of craftsmanship and style. Whether you’re creating a warm, country-inspired home or a modern, urban space with natural accents, Majestic Smoked & Lacquered Oak brings balance, elegance, and timeless appeal.

Built to perform as beautifully as it looks, this 20mm multi-layered engineered floor offers exceptional strength and stability. Unlike solid oak, engineered flooring is designed to handle Ireland’s changing climate, resisting expansion and contraction caused by humidity or temperature fluctuations. This ensures your floor remains smooth, secure, and stable for years to come — a perfect combination of tradition and technology.

For flexibility in installation, Majestic Smoked & Lacquered Oak can be glued directly to the subfloor for a permanent, luxurious feel or floated using a tongue and groove system for quicker, easier installation. Both methods deliver a flawless finish that showcases the natural beauty and craftsmanship of this premium hardwood floor.

Recommend Underlay/Adhesive

Our Engineered Flooring can be fitted either over an underlay as part of a floating system or can be directly glued to the subfloor. Our advice would always be for you to glue your floor down if possible. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

If you choose to float your floor the underlay you choose can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Majestic Flooring is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
