Product Description

Timeless Luxury Meets Modern Durability: Korlok Brunella Marble

If you have ever dreamt of the palatial elegance of Calacatta stone but dreaded the cold, porous nature of real rock, Korlok Tile Brunella Marble from Palio Express by Karndean is your perfect match. This 6.5mm thick masterpiece captures the crisp, luminous beauty of white marble, complete with delicate, iridescent veining in shades of taupe and golden brown. It is a floor designed to bring a sense of expansive, high-end luxury to any Irish home, from contemporary Dublin apartments to classic country estates.

The Practical Genius of SPC Flooring for the Irish Home

In Ireland, our floors must work harder than most. Between the damp Atlantic air and the hustle of family life, traditional marble can be a liability—it is prone to staining, cracking, and feeling like ice underfoot. This is where the advanced SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) technology of Korlok tiles changes the game.

Korlok Tile Brunella Marble is a 100% waterproof floor, making it the ultimate LVT flooring solution for moisture-prone areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms. Its rigid core construction provides “bridge-ability,” meaning it can be installed directly over most existing hard floors (such as old ceramic tiles or floorboards) without telegraphing subfloor imperfections. Unlike porcelain, these tiles are “shatter-proof” and significantly warmer underfoot, offering a “best of both worlds” scenario for those who value both style and substance.

Ergonomic Excellence: Integrated Rubber Underlay

Every 6.5mm Korlok tile comes equipped with a pre-attached acoustic rubber underlay. This isn’t just a convenience; it’s a vital practical feature for modern living. The rubber backing provides:

  • Superior Sound Reduction: Reducing noise transfer to rooms below by up to 21dB—ideal for “upside-down” houses or multi-storey renovations.
  • Exceptional Comfort: It adds a layer of “give” that makes standing for long periods in the kitchen much easier on your joints compared to real stone.
  • Faster Installation: With no need for a separate underlay, your project is completed up to 30% quicker than standard click vinyl.

Ask a Question

1. Does the "white" marble effect show dirt more easily than wood-look floors? While light floors can highlight debris, Brunella Marble features a "shale-coloured" InteGrout™—a realistic, non-porous grout line built into the tile. This prevents the "grubby grout" look common with real tiles. Its K-Guard+ surface protection also makes it incredibly easy to wipe clean, meaning mud and spills won't "sink in" or stain.

2. Can I use a steam mop on my Korlok Brunella Marble floor? While Korlok is 100% waterproof, we generally advise against steam mops as the intense heat can potentially weaken the adhesive bond of the wear layer over many years. Because the surface is so smooth and non-porous, a simple damp microfibre mop with a pH-neutral cleaner is all you need to maintain that pristine marble glow.

3. Is this floor suitable for use with underfloor heating in a conservatory? Yes, Korlok Brunella Marble is fully compatible with underfloor heating (up to 27°C). However, unlike some standard LVT floors, the rigid SPC core is designed to be more stable under temperature fluctuations. While we always recommend blinds for extreme direct sunlight, it is a much more resilient choice for bright Irish sunrooms than traditional flexible vinyl.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Palio Rigid by Karndean Flooring is pretty much the same as with all Vinyl Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Please make sure to also check the manufacturers guidelines. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet. You can view all our Cleaning & Maintenance products here.
