Product Description
Add timeless charm and natural elegance to your home with Morrison Oak Herringbone, a luxurious engineered herringbone floor that combines expert craftsmanship, rich texture, and classic design. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s trusted destination for engineered flooring, herringbone floors, and hardwood floors, this stunning 18mm oak herringbone floor features a smoked, brushed, and matt lacquered finish, offering a perfect balance of sophistication, durability, and natural beauty.
Each block of Morrison Oak Herringbone is smoked to enhance the oak’s natural tones, deepening its colour and creating a beautifully rich, warm finish. This smoking process draws out the natural variations within the wood, highlighting the grain and adding a sense of depth and character. The surface is then brushed, revealing the texture of the oak and giving it a tactile, organic feel that is both timeless and elegant. Finally, it is sealed with a matt lacquer finish, which offers long-lasting protection while maintaining a soft, low-sheen appearance that keeps the natural beauty of the wood at the forefront.
The rustic A/nature grading of Morrison Oak Herringbone ensures a refined yet authentic look. With fewer knots and gentle tonal variations, each plank retains the unique charm of real oak without overwhelming the eye. Subtle touches of sapwood add contrast and dimension, giving the floor a balanced, natural finish. Once laid in the classic herringbone pattern, the design comes alive — creating movement, texture, and a sense of timeless sophistication that enhances both contemporary and traditional interiors.
This 18mm multi-layered engineered floor is designed not just for beauty, but for performance. Unlike solid oak flooring, engineered flooring is built to withstand changes in humidity and temperature, making it perfect for the Irish climate. Its layered construction ensures excellent stability and strength, preventing movement or warping while retaining the authentic look and feel of traditional hardwood.
For the best results, Morrison Oak Herringbone must be glued directly to the subfloor, ensuring a secure, seamless fit that enhances the precision of the herringbone pattern. This method provides a strong foundation and a luxurious, solid feel underfoot. The result is a stunning, long-lasting floor that effortlessly combines craftsmanship, character, and class.

Recommend Adhesive
Our Engineered Herringbone must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Kinnitty Herringbone is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
