Product Description

Elevate your home with the timeless charm and natural elegance of Harvard Oak Herringbone, a stunning engineered herringbone floor that perfectly blends classic design with modern craftsmanship. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading destination for engineered flooring, herringbone floors, and hardwood floors, this 18mm oak herringbone offers a beautiful limewashed, brushed, and matt lacquered finish that captures the essence of Scandinavian-inspired style — bright, airy, and effortlessly sophisticated.

Each plank of Harvard Oak Herringbone is carefully crafted to highlight the natural character and grain of genuine oak. The limewashed finish softens the tone of the wood, giving it a subtle, sun-bleached appearance that enhances light and space within any room. It’s perfect for those who want to create an elegant, modern interior with a touch of rustic warmth. The surface is then brushed to accentuate the grain pattern and texture, bringing a tactile, natural feel underfoot. To complete the process, the wood is sealed with a durable matt lacquer finish that provides long-lasting protection while maintaining a soft, natural sheen. The result is a floor that feels organic yet refined — designed to age gracefully and stand the test of time.

The rustic A/nature grading ensures that every block of Harvard Oak Herringbone carries its own unique charm. With fewer knots and subtle colour variation, each piece celebrates the natural beauty of oak without appearing overly rustic. Gentle tones and touches of sapwood add depth and authenticity, ensuring no two floors are ever the same. When laid in its signature herringbone pattern, the result is simply stunning — a floor full of movement, texture, and timeless appeal.

Beneath its exquisite finish, this 18mm multi-layered engineered floor is designed for strength, stability, and performance. Unlike traditional solid oak, engineered flooring is built to resist movement caused by Ireland’s fluctuating climate, ensuring your floor remains stable and secure for years to come. Its advanced construction offers all the beauty of natural hardwood with the practicality and resilience modern homes demand.

For a perfect installation, Harvard Oak Herringbone must be glued directly to the subfloor, creating a solid, long-lasting bond that enhances the pattern’s precision and ensures a luxurious, seamless finish. Once installed, it delivers a sense of refinement and quality that instantly transforms any room.

Recommend Adhesive

Our Engineered Herringbone must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Kinnitty Herringbone is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
