Product Description

Bring timeless style, craftsmanship, and creative freedom into your home with Charleston Oak Herringbone, a beautifully crafted engineered herringbone floor that allows you to create your own bespoke finish. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s number one destination for engineered flooring, herringbone floors, and hardwood floors, this 18mm unfinished engineered herringbone floor provides the perfect foundation for a truly personalised interior.

Each block of Charleston Oak Herringbone arrives in its raw, natural form — ready to be finished onsite with an oil or lacquer of your choice. This flexibility gives you complete control over the final look and feel of your floor. Whether you prefer a rich, warm tone achieved with a deep oil finish or a soft, contemporary look with a natural lacquer, Charleston Oak Herringbone allows you to tailor your floor to suit your design vision perfectly. The result is a unique and custom-made surface that reflects your personality and complements your home’s décor.

Crafted with precision and elegance, each plank features a refined rustic A/nature grading, offering the perfect balance of character and sophistication. This means fewer knots and only subtle colour variation, while still celebrating the authenticity and natural beauty of real oak. Touches of sapwood and gentle tonal shifts add depth and dimension, creating a floor full of warmth and understated charm. Once finished, the natural herringbone pattern adds movement and texture, giving your space an air of classic luxury and architectural detail.

This floor is more than just beautiful — it’s built for performance. The 18mm multi-layered engineered constructionensures long-lasting stability, strength, and resistance to environmental changes. Unlike solid wood, engineered flooringis designed to handle fluctuations in humidity and temperature, making it ideal for Ireland’s ever-changing climate. It provides all the authenticity of real hardwood with the added advantage of superior durability and structural integrity.

For optimal results, Charleston Oak Herringbone must be glued directly to the subfloor. This installation method ensures a firm, secure bond that enhances the precision of the herringbone pattern and provides a solid, luxurious feel underfoot. Once installed and finished, this floor becomes a true showpiece — a timeless statement of style and craftsmanship.

Recommend Adhesive

Our Engineered Herringbone must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Kinnitty Herringbone is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
