Product Description

If you’re searching for a floor that blends timeless elegance with the beauty of natural oak, look no further than Albury Oak Herringbone — a masterpiece of design and craftsmanship. Available exclusively from FloorStore Direct, Ireland’s leading destination for engineered flooring, herringbone floors, and hardwood floors, this luxurious 18mm oak herringbone brings sophistication, warmth, and character to any home. With its stained, brushed, and matt lacquered finish, it offers the perfect balance of classic style and contemporary living.

Each block of Albury Oak Herringbone is meticulously finished to highlight the oak’s natural grain and depth. The stained surface gives the floor a gentle, rich tone that enhances its organic texture without overpowering its beauty. The brushed finish brings the grain to life, revealing intricate lines and adding a subtle, tactile texture that feels soft underfoot. Sealed with a matt lacquer, the surface maintains a natural, low-sheen look that’s both elegant and practical — durable enough for busy family life while retaining the understated luxury of true hardwood.

The rustic A/nature grading makes this herringbone floor truly special. With fewer knots and refined colour variation, Albury Oak Herringbone strikes a delicate balance between sophistication and authenticity. You’ll see the occasional touch of sapwood and gentle tonal shifts that showcase the character of real oak, ensuring that no two floors are ever identical. The result is a floor full of warmth, depth, and individuality — a perfect centrepiece for both classic and modern interiors.

The timeless herringbone pattern adds architectural structure and visual interest, instantly elevating any space it’s laid in. Whether you’re designing a statement hallway, a contemporary living room, or a boutique-style bedroom, the geometric elegance of herringbone never goes out of style. It’s a design that has graced Europe’s grandest homes for centuries — and now, it’s available to bring that same luxury into your own home.

Beneath its beautiful surface, this 18mm multi-layered engineered floor is built for strength and stability. Unlike solid wood, engineered flooring is designed to resist movement caused by temperature and humidity changes — making it ideal for Ireland’s climate. The result is a durable, long-lasting floor that performs as beautifully as it looks.

For the perfect finish, Albury Oak Herringbone must be glued directly to the subfloor, ensuring precision alignment and a stable, solid feel underfoot. Once installed, it exudes craftsmanship and quality in every detail.

Recommend Adhesive

Our Engineered Herringbone must be directly glued to the subfloor. This will provide a more solid and stable structure that will increase noise reduction, feel better underfoot and will not expand as much. In the long term it will also provide structural stability during any floor sanding. If you have underfloor heating a glued down floor eliminates air pockets and will then allow your heating to work more economically. You can view all our adhesives here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Kinnitty Herringbone is pretty much the same as with most Engineered Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
