1. Does the "Light Gold" tone work well with modern grey walls? Absolutely. Scorpio Oak acts as an "organic balancer." 2. Why is the 12mm thickness specifically recommended for renovations? In many Irish renovations, you are transitioning from a 12mm tile or an older solid floor. An 8mm laminate often leaves an awkward "step" or trip hazard. By using the 12mm Scorpio Oak with a standard underlay, you achieve a near-perfect level transition between rooms, often eliminating the need for bulky reducer strips.
3. Is the black-painted V-groove hard to clean? Quite the opposite. The pre-painted black bevel is designed to be smooth and sealed, meaning it doesn't trap dust as easily as raw, unpainted grooves. A simple vacuum or damp mop is all that's needed to keep the definition of the planks looking sharp and clean.
Recommended Underlay
The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Kronopol laminate floor is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
