Product Description

Infuse Your Home with the Radiance of King Floor Plus Lark Oak

In a country where natural light is a precious commodity, your choice of flooring can transform the entire atmosphere of your home. The King Floor Plus Lark Oak  is designed to act as a permanent sunbeam in your living space. Featuring a vibrant, bright golden oak palette, this floor brings an immediate sense of energy and warmth to any interior. At Floorstore Direct, we have cemented our position as the best place in Ireland to buy engineered and laminate flooring by offering premium European solutions that match the prestige of real timber with the unbreakable resilience of modern engineering.

Lark Oak belongs to the elite “Plus” series from Kronopol flooring. What truly sets this product apart is its grand long and wide board format (). These oversized planks are a game-changer for interior design; by significantly reducing the number of joints across your floor, they create a seamless, expansive look that mimics the high-end floorboards found in luxury estates. When combined with a 12mm thickness, you get a floor that feels incredibly substantial underfoot, providing the acoustic depth and stability that thinner alternatives simply cannot provide.

Engineering Excellence: AC6 Durability & Aqua Stop Technology

The beauty of Swiss Krono flooring—manufactured by the world-renowned Swiss Krono Group—is its “over-engineered” approach to daily life. Lark Oak is built to a commercial standard, ensuring it remains pristine regardless of how busy your household is.

  • AC6 Abrasion Rating: This is the highest durability classification in the world of laminate flooring. Certified for extreme traffic, Lark Oak is virtually immune to scratches from pets, high-traffic footfall, and the movement of heavy furniture.

  • 24-Hour Water Resistance: Designed for the realities of modern living, this range features a high-density, water-resistant core. This prevents swelling from surface spills, making it a reliable and beautiful choice for kitchens, busy hallways, and open-plan living zones.
  • 12mm Structural Integrity: The extra-thick HDF core makes Lark Oak more forgiving of minor subfloor imperfections and provides superior performance when installed over underfloor heating.

Ask a Question

1. Does the "Bright Gold" tone work with modern industrial designs? Absolutely. While Lark Oak is warm, it acts as a perfect "organic balance" to the cool greys and black metals found in industrial or modern minimalist styles. It prevents these designs from feeling too cold or "unfinished," adding a much-needed layer of natural warmth and texture.

2. How do the "Long & Wide" boards handle high-traffic corridors? Longer boards () are actually superior for hallways. Because there are fewer "end-joints" (where two planks meet), there are fewer weak points in the floor’s surface. This makes the floor more stable under the constant "pounding" of hallway traffic and creates a clean, architectural line that draws the eye through the house.

3. Is the 12mm AC6 board significantly quieter than an 8mm board? Yes. The 12mm HDF core is much denser than standard laminate. This added mass acts as a natural sound barrier, reducing the high-pitched "clacking" sound of footsteps. When paired with a high-quality acoustic underlay, it provides a sound profile very close to that of a solid engineered floor, making it ideal for bedrooms and upstairs living areas.

Recommended Underlay

The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Kronopol laminate flooring is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
