Product Description

Discover the Grandeur of King Floor Plus Falcon Oak

When it comes to interior design, the scale of your flooring can be just as important as the color. The King Floor Plus Falcon Oak  is a masterclass in proportion and natural beauty. Featuring a timeless natural oak palette, this floor brings an organic, earthy warmth to any interior. At Floorstore Direct, we have cemented our position as the best place in Ireland to buy engineered and laminate flooring by offering premium solutions that match the prestige of real timber with the unbreakable resilience of modern technology.

Falcon Oak belongs to the elite “Plus” range from Kronopol flooring. What sets this apart is the long and wide board format (). These oversized planks are designed to mimic the grand floorboards found in luxury estates, significantly reducing the number of joints in your floor to create a seamless, expansive look. When combined with a 12mm thickness, the result is a floor that feels incredibly solid underfoot, providing the acoustic depth and stability that 8mm alternatives simply cannot match.

Built for Life: AC6 Rating & Kronopol Engineering

The beauty of Kronopol is its “over-engineered” approach to daily life. As part of the world-renowned Swiss Krono Group, Kronopol has designed Falcon Oak to be virtually indestructible in a standard domestic setting.

  • AC6 Abrasion Rating: This is the highest durability classification in the industry. While AC5 is standard for commercial spaces, AC6 offers maximum protection against scratches from pets, heavy footfall, and the sliding of furniture.

  • Advanced Water Resistance: We understand the Irish climate. This floor features a high-density, water-resistant core that resists moisture swelling, making it a safe and beautiful choice for kitchens, hallways, and busy utility areas.

  • 12mm Structural Integrity: The extra-thick HDF core makes Falcon Oak much more forgiving of minor subfloor imperfections and provides superior performance when installed over underfloor heating.

Ask a Question

1. How do "Long and Wide" boards affect the look of a narrow hallway? While many assume large boards are only for big rooms, Falcon Oak ( length) is a secret weapon for narrow hallways. By running the long planks along the length of the hall, you create fewer horizontal breaks, which draws the eye forward and makes the space feel significantly longer and more "architectural."

2. Is the 12mm thickness better for sound dampening between floors? Absolutely. The 12mm HDF core is much denser than standard laminate. This added mass acts as a natural sound barrier, reducing the "hollow" tapping sound often associated with laminate. When paired with a high-quality acoustic underlay, it provides a sound profile very close to that of a solid engineered floor.

3. Why is an AC6 rating important for homes with large pets? For households with large dogs, the floor is under constant stress from claws and movement. An AC6 rating provides a significantly harder wear layer than standard residential laminates. This means your Falcon Oak floor will maintain its "just-installed" look for years, resisting the micro-scratches that usually dull a floor's finish over time.

Recommended Underlay

The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.

Fitting Guidelines

In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.

Cleaning & Maintenance Guide

The cleaning and maintenance of our Kronopol laminate flooring is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop.  If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
