Redefine Your Home with King Floor Plus Croft Oak
When it comes to creating an interior that feels both expansive and grounded, the choice of flooring is paramount. The King Floor Plus Croft Oak (L272) is a masterclass in modern rustic design, offering a soft, muted beige oak palette that instantly brightens any room. At Floorstore Direct, we have solidified our reputation as the best place in Ireland to buy engineered and laminate flooring by providing a curated selection of floors that combine aesthetic prestige with the ruggedness required for a busy Irish home.
Croft Oak is a standout within the premium Kronopol flooring collection. While many standard laminates feel lightweight, this 12mm thick board is built for substance. The “Plus” range features a grand long and wide boardformat (), which reduces visual “clutter” and makes any room feel exponentially more spacious. It is the perfect foundation for a contemporary kitchen, a minimalistic open-plan apartment, or a high-traffic hallway that needs a touch of architectural elegance.
Commercial-Grade Engineering: AC6 and Kronopol Precision
The beauty of Swiss Krono flooring is its “over-engineered” construction. As a flagship product from the Kronopol King Floor series, Croft Oak is built to withstand the rigours of everyday life without losing its luster.
- AC6 Abrasion Rating: This is the highest durability classification available. While AC5 is standard for heavy commercial use, this AC6 rating makes it virtually immune to scratches from pets, high-traffic footfall, and the movement of heavy furniture.
- Innovative Water Resistance: Designed for real-world living, this range features a high-density, water-resistant core. This prevents the boards from swelling due to surface spills, making it a reliable and stylish choice for moisture-prone areas like kitchens.
- Express Click System: Time is a luxury. The precision-engineered click system allows for a swift, gap-free installation. It’s a favorite among professional fitters for its reliability and ease of use.

Ask a Question
1. How do the "Long & Wide" boards benefit smaller Irish homes? Contrary to the belief that large boards are only for grand rooms, the oversized dimensions of Croft Oak ( long) actually make smaller rooms feel larger. By having fewer visible seams across the floor, the "visual noise" is reduced, creating a more continuous, flowing surface that tricks the eye into seeing more space.
2. Why is an AC6 rating better for open-plan living areas? In open-plan homes, the same floor often runs from the kitchen to the living room. AC6 durability ensures that the floor can handle the concentrated friction of dining chairs being moved and high-traffic "paths" through the house without showing the dull "wear tracks" that often plague lower-rated laminates after a few years.
3. Does the "Beige" tone of Croft Oak show pet hair and dust? One of the hidden benefits of Croft Oak is its forgiving colour palette. The soft beige oak grain and extra-matt finish are excellent at camouflaging dust and light-coloured pet hair compared to darker or high-gloss floors. This makes it a practical "low-maintenance" choice for active households.
Recommended Underlay
The underlay you choose for your new floor can be just as important as the floor itself as this is what will determine the feel and noise level under your foot. Furthermore if you have underfloor heating, the underlay you choose will determine the level of heat conductivity with some underlays allowing for a quicker heat transfer than others. Because of this, getting the right underlay is hugely important. You can view our entire underlay collection here.
Fitting Guidelines
In order for your new floor to perform to the best of its ability we advise using a skilled, professional fitter for the installation of your new floor. Prior to installation your floor must be checked to ensure it is level and free from moisture. Should there be any issues with this our levelling compounds and damp proof membranes are available here. It is vitally important, in particular with a floating floor that you do not fit any heavy objects (Such as fitted kitchens or islands) directly to the floor. An installation gap of 10-12mm must also be left around all 4 sides of the room including at doorways. Please refer to manufacturers guidelines for full installation instructions.
Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
The cleaning and maintenance of our Kronopol laminate flooring is pretty much the same as with all Laminate Flooring. A sweep of a brush is all it should take to remove light dirt from your floor. For mopping, it is important you use a damp mop rather than a wet mop. If your floor is too wet, over time it may cause issues from water penetrating the joints. We advise the use of a PH neutral floor cleaner to ensure no damage to the floor. Also a spin mop or micro fibre mop should ensure the floor is not being overly wet.
